Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale is a barrel-aged ale brewed with Kentucky-sourced pumpkin, richly spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. As the ale is aged in fresh bourbon barrels, the sweetness of caramel and vanilla are imparted upon the brew and complement its spicier base. At 10 percent alcohol by volume (ABV), this robust, limited release seasonal makes for a flavorful sipping beer to slowly warm up with as the weather cools. Some retailers will be offering collectible jack-o-latern snifters along with the ale.

The bourbon is still a bit overpowering to the pumpkin i would have liked to see a better balance between the two ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle from Julio’s Liquors. Mostly clear orange color. Nose is oaky vanilla, light pumpkin spice and butter. Upfront the flavor is vanilla oak with net meg and all spice in mid palate. The finish is light traces of pumpkin and caramel malts. Gives a slight warming sensation after the sip. Overall its ok, not going to get you overly excited.

Eehhh. The pumpkin spice hides all the other imperfections of the beerin the aroma, but their budlight flavor comes out in the finish. Great up front terrible in the finish.

Bottle. Nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin and caramel malt aroma with a hint of bourbon. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet cinnamon, orange/pumpkin malt flavor with a light alcohol finish. Decent - a bit light and boozy.

I’m not sure what they were going for here... It’s pretty frustrating to see bourbon barrel-aged beers that have such little evidence showing such treatment. It is a basic pumpkin ale (one of hundreds) that show a HINT of oak before becoming heavily spiced and... too boozy. I’ve never described a beer this way, but this is the worst example of a barrel-aged beer I’ve ever had. Ever.

Pours a dark amber and smells of pumpkin vanilla and spices. Tastes of fall spices like vanilla and cinnamon. Different from most and finishes strong ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Hazy light copper body with a frothy white head. Aroma of pumpkin, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, and bourbon. Taste is all your regular spices, pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, but the vanilla and bourbon balance the spices very nicely. A bit boozy. Definitely warms you up. Not bad for being barrel aged. But nothing to write home about.

Bottle. Strong nutmeg, buttery brown sugar, light pumpkin malt and oaky vanilla aroma. Clear brassy gold with a moderate off-white head. Cinnamon, nutmeg, oaky boozy bourbon, and pumpkin malt flavor. Body on the light side of medium, moderate carbonation. This one got boozier as it warmed, and a bit of vegetal note also developed.
