With all-natural ingredients, the Keoki Sunset’s mahogany color hints at it’s subtle balance of delicious, rich flavors. A slight roasted malt taste and good hop aroma gives this Hawaii beer a bittersweet chocolate complexity and a velvet-like body with a quaffable character.

Malts: 2-Row Brewers Malt, Carapils, White Wheat, Caramel Vienne, Carmel 120L
Hops: Simcoe, for bittering and Vanguard, for flavor and aroma

Aroma – Light malt aroma the hops where almost non existent.
Appearance – Amber in color clear with a very light head.
Flavor – Light Ale flavor with very little hops this was a decent hot weather beer. Very close to a big boy pale ale.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, easy to drink finished dry.
Overall – My first beer on the Islands and it was great. Sure I want tons of flavor but I have to go with what they got. I enjoyed it and will enjoy more as my trip goes on.

Looks nice on pour - darker lager color and nice head. Aroma was pleasing with citrusy hop notes. Flavor was off. I didn’t get any chocolate in this at all. I wouldn’t repeat.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2008 Pretty complex for a Hawaiian brew. Deep floral aroma with raisins and yeast overriding anything else. Pours with an average off-white head, typical APA amber color. Taste finishes with a note of bitter chocolate. Interesting but not amazing.

This was an excellent beer! Had it on tap at the Royal Kona on the big island. I am quite surprised that this has not scored better. it was a very flavorful malty brew with an perfect reddish color. Extremely refreshing and very drinkable either at a hot Kona afternoon or at a perfect red sunset!

22oz bottle. Poured a deeper and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, and toasted caramel. Tastes of citrus, light roasted and toasted malts, and a little bready. Lively body.

I had this ondraft at the Aloha Angel Cafe in Kona. It’s a dark amber color with a slight amount of hoppiness. It was more like am amber ale.

Dark golden colored, little yellow head. Slightly cloudy appearance. Caramelly and flowery hopped aroma, some yeasty lemon also there. Medium bodied. Flavor has some flowery vegetable with hops and rich fruits. Somehow reminds me of some Danish micro-brews. Basic APA.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is hops, hay and quite bready along with some caramel. Flavour is hops, paper, caramel and bread. Not the most exciting APA.

Amber color, small off-white head. Rye bready, a bit yeasty aroma. Bready hoppy, some flowery notes. Quite light palate - easy to drink, easy to forget -APA. Thanks to Brunnsbe for a new state!

(Bottled) Clear amber with a small head. Caramely aroma with soft hoppiness. Caramely-malty, dull and smooth flavor with some dry-grassy hops in the finish. Light to medium-bodied, low-carbonated palate. A quickly forgotten brew.
