Draught at the Yard House, Honolulu, HI
Hazy amber color with creamy head. Some aroma of paper and butter. The mouthfeel is smooth; there is some malt flavor and evident traces of butter. Ordinary bitterness.
A common beer, with some (too much) diacetyl.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2008 Pretty complex for a Hawaiian brew. Deep floral aroma with raisins and yeast overriding anything else. Pours with an average off-white head, typical APA amber color. Taste finishes with a note of bitter chocolate. Interesting but not amazing.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bright ruby/copper colored with a small white head. It’s a little malty for a pale ale, nor does it have nearly the hoppiness it should. It’s not very distinctive, but it goes down smooth.

On tap @ Kalapaki Joe’s. medium amber, thin off white head. Caramel with a pleasant stone fruit character and medium bitterness. More like a hoppy amber than an APA, but decent drinking.
