junon (119), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Feb 26, 2008 Looks good. Looks strong. I must agree with other raters and say not much aroma. Taste is there though. Reminds me of Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Ale. Maybe not quite as packed by enough to make me raise in eyebrow. Not bad.
Ale_Drinker (1055), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jun 19, 2008 The bar had this listed on their menu as ’Sunset Lager.’ Expecting a bland light lager, I was happily surprised when the beer arrived and was dark in color with a good balance between caramel malt and hoppy aroma. A very good pale and and well balanced. elihapa (200), Hawaii, USA Jun 12, 2008 bottle. Pours a light caramel color with a fast disappearing head. Not attractive. Nose is of sweet malt and caramel. Flavor consists of one sided sweetness with a slightly bitter finish. Palate also leaves something to be desired. This is simply a marginal beer. Naven (689), San Diego, California, USA Mar 24, 2008 22 oz bottle, purchased at Foodland, Princeville, Kauai. Pours a dark red color. No aroma whatsoever. Pretty typical Amber, although this is much more malty than other Ambers I have had recently. Overall, there is nothing about this beer that stands out. I think the fact that I am sitting here on a lanai staring out at the Napali Coast is causing me to be generous with my rating. mar (519), Dallas, Texas, USA Feb 12, 2008 deep amber pour with a tiny bit of froth at top. roasted malts and fruits on the nose along with a slight syrup scent. nice thickness and a great malt taste with notes of chocolate.
