Since I can’t rate it under that name, I can report that Keoki isn’t around any more. Tried to find the brewery in Lihue, and the only Keoki where the brewery used to be is a plate-lunch place.
Anyway, the amber ale has an intriguing nose, but it doesn’t get better from there. Interesting coffee notes, but the flavor isn’t complex or nuanced. Perfectly quaffable, given the temperatures, but not terribly noteworthy.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Deep reddy brown with a lacy beige head that forms in drifts at the edges.
Deep and rich malty flavours with mango and passionfruit notes.
Rich burnished chocolatey flavours with a good nasal dryness and deep cocoa finish.
A little too carbonated for me which is a shame as this definitely has promise.
Not bad. Good harsh flavours underly its floral nose and it leaves great flavours in the mouth. A little pasteurised and too fizzy but pretty delicious overall. Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA
