In bringing together artisans from disparate aural planes, one might expect an offbeat, feedback-warped cacophony, shrill to the point of unlistenable. Yet, by inviting Kyle Hollingsworth, keyboardist for eclectic, jam-prone sextet, The String Cheese Incident, and Keri Kelli, wailing rock guitarist of Alice Cooper fame, we were able to make truly beautiful music. Turns out, these musicians have a great deal in common, both with each other and with Stone. We all enjoy turning things up to 11, and that is represented in this collaborative offering, an imperial India pale ale ably backed by Nugget, Comet and Calypso hops, and amplified care of a healthy dry-hopping with Vicís Secret, a new Australian hop, adding citrus and tropical fruit oomph. To give this modern masterpiece some soulful, classic character, we traced the roots of brewing to the days when Old World herbs were used to spice beers, adding in coriander and, a first for us, elderberries. To stand up to that sumptuous spice and blaring bitterness, we added golden naked oats, which are lightly roasted and add body and enhanced mouthfeel to the brew like a steady, unbreakable backbeat to an incendiary jam solo. Sit back, crank the volume and get lost in this operatic incarnation of genres combined in the name of invention.

Rated on 7-19-2015 (Bottle) The appearance of this beer is a medium sized smooth off-white head that mostly diminished, golden transparent body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and there is one ring of lacing. The aroma is citrus, pine hops,, tropical fruits, earthy, and berries. The flavor is moderately bitter, sweet, citrus, pine hops, tropical fruits, coriander, and spicy. The mouthfeel of this beer is moderate carbonation and this beer is light bodied. A very drinkable beer that is not overly hoppy tasting for the style. It is a beer with a very good flavor and it is well worth trying. This is a beer that I would definitely partake in again as it is another well brewed beer by Stone.

Bottle from the back of the fridge, sadly not fresh. Orange with gross-looking foamy head. Smells perfumy and fruity- and cereally. Sweet & plasticy with a mild bitterness at the finish. That final note actually tastes pretty good and complex, I hope thatís what it tastes like when itís fresh. But now its too sweet.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy off-white colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent orange brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was mild hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of bitter mild citrus mild caramel and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Originally rated on 6/9/14. A hazy, deep, orange to copper colored body with a thin, foamy, off-white head that leaves some ringed lace bands around the glass. Aromas of sweet tropical fruit, berries, orange peel, hop resin, and toasty malts. Flavors are berry and tropical fruit forward, with a tangy sweet and resinous undertones. The body is medium with a resinous and tangy fruit sweet aftertaste. Overall a rather nice beer, especially the aroma.

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is sweet, tropical fruit, pine, malt, bitter. Appearance is dark gold, off-white head. Taste is tropical fruit, malt, nice piny bitterness, dank as you swallow. Mouthfeel is good, great carbonation but just a touch light. Overall, itís pretty good but leaves room for improvement.

22 oz bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is a deep orange color with a thin off white head and some pretty good lace hanging around. The aroma is heavy malts and tropical fruits. There is a little bitterness on the back end, but it seems like this could be a malt bomb. The flavor is really dank and malty. There is a nice tropical fruit and light hop presence. The back end is still bright tropical fruits and then a bitter dank hoppiness. The mouth feel is thin and light, and there isn't really a good carbonation to help it out. It almost comes off a little slimy. The aftertaste is lingeringly bitter and dank. Not bad, could be better for sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
