3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
After struggling with the cork for some minutes, I poured a hazy and bubbly orange brown body with quickly disappearing grey head. Champagne, clean yeast, apples and wheat. Bit disappointing. Taste is more pronounced, quite sharp sweetness with classic hops to backup and loads of carbonation to dim things down. A real alcohol warmth as well. Very Belgian and not bad but is all this carbonation and alcohol really needed to make a good tripel? No, it isn’t.

Draught @ Gastropub Tuulensuu as ”Bink Tripel”. Rated on 21.12.2010
Aroma is somewhat fruity with some soapy citrus typical to tripels. Flavour is slightly tart with soapy citrus, some apricot and hints of warming alcohol. A tripel easy to forget.
75 cl bottle vintage 2005 @ Pikkulintu
Aroma has apricot, some cardboard and caramel. Old feeling here. Flavour has caramel, toffee, apricot and slight cardboardy notes. Around 3.5 still.

On draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pours a slightly hazy light golden colour with a decent white head. Pine and grass hop aromas with lemon, caramel and alcohol also. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and a chewy mouth-feel. Lovely with moderate bitterness and a great dry finish.

Pours a deep, somewhat dull, straw, white head.
Spicy, somewhat musky aroma, yeast, malt, earth, hops, citrus.
Off-dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2.
Robust taste, lots of earthy, yeasty notes, malt, citrusy hops, very rustique.

Had this under the label Bink Tripel. The nose is excellent. On opening the bottle, I thought, here comes a top of the line Abbey Tripel, the pour showed very little head, but the body was cloudy, which can mean character. Alas and alack, the taste was a let down for me. Very nowhere. I finished it, but there was no flavor, no head, only the nose.

75cl bottle @Kaisla, Helsinki, labeled Bink Tripel. Poured hazy orange with a thin white head. Arom had earthyness, light spicyness and hops. Flavor had hops, earth and light fruityness. Very dry finish. Good balance but overall quite a dull beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at an esbls . I brought it. A light tea colored beer that has no head. A sweet fruity caramel nose. The flavor is not as nice as the nose. Cooked brown sugar, complex fruit, and alcohol. Very sweet. Kind of disappointing.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2012 75cl bottle. Yellow/golden clear and slightly hazy liquid. Small to medium white head. Nose : tart, honey and flower aromas. Fruity notes. Sip : Low carbonation and low to medium density liquid. Medium sweet that develops little sour and medium bitter end. Tart taste along the way. Overall : nothing special unless you like tart taste about it. It has more hops then a regular tart lovers beer but not enough to be a refreshment. The alcohol is well hidden so be careful. Extra points for creamy texture and woody aftertaste.
