4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle at The Penguin. Pure gold with a fine uneven white foam lacing like lager. Wonderful hop aroma with juicy fat orange flesh, pine, papaya, gooseberries and honey. Slick and honeyed with hints of TCP and oak; orange flesh and gooseberry hop very much in the driving seat, retronasal acetone reckons Octo. I reckon she’s wrong. Top tripel with a hop character holding its own Vs Mikkeller Simcoe at The Penguin tonight. Fair play. Bright, ringing Belgian of the kind that gives the impression you could drink it all night, and then hurts you for 2 days afterwards. Beautiful beer. Welcome to the top 100 raters club, DruncanVeasey.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the Kerkom pub. Hazy gold appearance with a thick, clingy head. The aroma is a littel yeasty and fruity but mainly gives the impression if spicy, fresh cut herbs and oranges. Smooth and fruity flavor with orange and a lightly herbal, boozy finish to let you know you are drinking a tripel. Smooth, medium body. Nice stuff. Definitely my kind of tripel.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 75 cl from Beer Planet in Brussels (B). Golden beer with short foam, slightly flat. The taste is, like the bouquet, soft, with yeast and zest. Spices, toffy, bread, fruity and a little peppered. Average roundness. Bitterness in finale, hints of wood and acidity.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle Not sure what was with it, but it smelled like baked beans. It was a good drink. The taste wasn’t off and the carbonation was ok.. it was just the nose that was messed. Hazy orangish gold with a nice head. Spice and yeast with a medium mouthfeel. a slightly sweet aftertaste.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap @ Moeder Lambic. Typical golden beer with white head. Had this after the way lower ABV Taras Boulba and this one had almost no flavour. Sweet maltiness, Bit unbalanced and lacks complexity.

Bottle at Cooper’s. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin white head. Aroma of spice, yeast, and fruit. Flavor also has spice, yeast, and citrus tastes. Decent trippel, but far from overwhelming.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very hazy blonde with a good head and good lace. The aroma is only lightly soapy right up front but that gives way to a very appealing floral character with plenty of hoppiness and fresh hay. The flavor follows with a nice fruitiness some herbal hoppiness that sort of dominates the whole thing with a bit of graininess (the good kind), & all around the beer is very nicely bitter. In my opinion this is one of the best in the style.

Draft. Light golden pour with a white lacing of head. Spices, clove, apple, and yeast notes. Nothing that over powering.
