3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nitro pour at brewery. Nose is BIG hit of bourbon vanilla, oak, booze. Not very pleasant as the stout portion is almost completely missing. Appearance is dark with thin tan head bit, fades fast. Not too thick. Taste is bourbon on bourbon again the stout is not very present. Palate is thin and surprisingly not too hot considering the bourbon bomb. Overall iím not sure iíd swing in for this again. Itís a huge dose of bourbon on an already easy drinking stout and really overpowers the base beer.

On draft at KRBC. This one has insane bourbon aroma. I tasted lots of vanilla fudge type flavors. I loved it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very similar to base beer, but actually think the bourbon kind of owns this one and not in a great way. Ok, just one-dimensional BA stout.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Draught) jet black, soapy tan head. Nose of raisins, light ash, bourbon, tiny bit of manurey smell. Taste is sweeter than desired, raisin, vanilla, milk choc, sweet finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Kern Class X August 2013: Draft. Body is dark brown with almost no head. Lots of sugary vanilla bourbon on nose. Body is softly carbonated, flavor is rich with bourbon, some cola notes, toasted barley. The subtle smokiness and chocolate of Class V is overpowered here; the overall balance is a bit off, dominated by simple hot bourbon notes. Still worth a try though.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap - just got lucky this was on tap while I was at the brewpub. Pours opaque black with a medium super creamy tan head and great lacing. Aroma is bourdon, dark roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, light bitter, light woody astringence. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught during the Citra release on 02/01/2013. The beer pours black with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and bourbon. Full-bodied with flavors of burnt malt, bourbon and dark chocolate. The finish is boozy with a lingering oaky bourbon aftertaste. Good beer overall.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nitro at Toronado SD. Thanks to richiesd for the hook up. Poured an opaque, muddy, dark brune to black. Nose is heavier barrel: toasted coconut, vanilla, oak, butter, spicy wood, savory rendered fat. Taste is tart, lemony, thin with a lot of coffee sweetener. Bit disappointed with this one as well, but very thankful to have tried it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
The bourbon is definitely prominent in the aroma. Taste as well with a sweet molasses taste mixing with it. Alcohol aftertaste. Very, very smooth and more dominantly bourbon than most bourbon barrel stouts I've had. A great dessert beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
March 4, 2011 - with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel: corked & caged (one litre?) bottle via trade with irishboy. Thin-looking ruby, not opaque, virtually no head. Aroma is dominated by oak and bourbon sweetness, background alcohol and roast. Taste - wow, huge bourbon, vanilla, tannin and alcohol - quite unbalanced, but if you like bourbon (I DONíT), this is for you - the beer and roast are not just in the backseat, they are in the truck wrapped in a sleeping bag. Thin and slick mouthfeel. mild carbonation, a build-up of vanilla and sweet booziness on my palate - not my thing (sorry, Richard!).
