“The Name Says it All” Just Outstanding has an orange amber body that combines a zesty and bitter characteristic, a generous malty taste and an exquisite floral aroma – Oh yeah, this beer is really hoppy too! This sturdy ale has 7.5% alcohol and twice the malt and hops of a Pale Ale. If you like a strong IPA, you’ll find this beer

Appearance was hazy gold with creamy off white lasting 1 finger head, rings of delightful lacing. Aromas are citrus, soft pine with hints of pale maltyness, no alcohol. Taste are grapefruit, lemon, orange and pine upfront with soft malt sweetness. The wonderful balanced fruit and pine finish. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with medium body, then a lasting fruity, piney slightly dryish finish. Overall a wonderful DIPA, west coast all the way.

Bottle to glass. Pours a mostly clear amber golden orange color with a light tan head. Aroma is full of fleshy tropical fruit hops, fresh floral notes. Flavor is sweet, fruity, tropical, light bitterness. Light to medium in body and very drinkable! Excellent IPA.

Pours beatifully, honey golden color with off white head. Aromas of flowers, grapefruit and peaches. First taste is the floralness, followed by citrus notes, and than a massive slam of bitterness that lingers all the way. Not juicy, but a true IPA.

22 oz. into snifter at Public School 612 in downtown LA. Pours a medium orange with sizable head. Good lacing lingers throughout. Very nice notes of pine, floral, citrus typical of a west coast offering. Well-balanced, just enough dryness and not too malty & sweet. Flavorful, and very enjoyable. Good beer!

Salmoniform (1272) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - NOV 21, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Orange honey hue with creamy off white head. Aroma is pine, straw, grassy, hay. Mouthfeel is good with a medium body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a hop bitterness through the finish. Overall this is an interesting IPA...quite dry, spicy hop, & not fruity. Overall, it’s ok.

Bottle at Hamilton’s Tavern, SD, 12/11/14. Golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is citric peel, bitter orange, light pine, grapefruit. Taste comprises caramel malt, pine, orange pith, straw, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with hop bitterness well represented. Decent IPA but fell a little short of my expectations.

Lives up to the name, great nose, very drinkable. Citrusy and not overly hoppy but with a nice kick. Glad I randomly picked this up.

another textbooker style-wise from Kern. Didn’t knock your socks off, but acheived a very nice balance of bitter, citrus, floral, and a little bit of sweet fruit, and very smooth. i dug this IPA. courtesy of jlozier

Received this as an extra in a recent trade. Poured into a standard pint.

A - Pours deep, cloudy, orange with a pillowy soft one finger head leaving sticky sheets of lacing down the glass.

S - Lots of grassy citric hops up front. Grapefruit, gram cracker malt, and a bit of dryness. Very nice balance overall with plenty of floral hops.

T - Plenty of piney citric hops up front giving way quickly to a mix of gram cracker malt and a touch of caramel sweetness. Finish is a bit dry with some lingering hop bitterness. Very good balance of flavors in this one. A bit old, my bad, but still very enjoyable.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Nice soft feel with a bit of bitterness in the finish that doesn’t linger for very long.

D - Pretty high. I really liked this one. I would love to try this on-tap someday. Can’t wait to try some of the other offerings from Kern River.
