De Kerstpater is diep donkerbruin met een streepje rood en heeft een beige schuim. Zoals bij de bruine Pater Lieven wordt ook hier de geur overheerst door chocolade met panachévulling, maar daar komt nog zoet bij van kandij en karamel en de warmte van alcohol. In de mond overheerst kandijzoet, maar een bitterheid zoals in zwarte chocolade of cacao verhinderen dat het zoet plakkerig wordt. De afdronk is lang, vooral het zoet blijft hangen.

From tap @ Delirium. Dark, brown with copper glance and a fat sticky looking brown head, disappearing. Caramel, roasted malts, yeast. Finish is bitter, dry. The taste is correct, but pretty straight forward. If anything, alcoholic.The moment you expect this beer is going to deliver, it falls through. pretty short finish, would expect more for a winter beer. but still, correct beer.

God mørk øl med masser af smag, næsten over i det voldsomme. Man lægger ikke mærke til den høje alkohol procent. God at sidde og nyde over lang tid.
