Bottle 33cl. Deep dark brown, small foamy tan head, mostly diminishing, almost no lacing; aroma roasted malts, overripe fruit, apple syrup, licorice; taste is medium sweet and slightly sour, fruity, candied cherries, spicy notes, average to long duration, mild sweet and sour aftertaste, cinnamon notes, bit woody, light bitter touch in the finish; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; expected more bitterness and less sourness, disappointing.

Bottle at home. Aroma is sweet malt, candy sugar, caramel, marzipan, candy, raisins, spicy notes. Flavour is quite sugary sweet with some bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Good if you like übersweet beers I suppose, it’s just not for me.

Flaska belgoklubben. Brun kulör med eldoranget sken. Söt och fruktig doft. Sockrade äpplen, sirap och jäst. Smak av mosiga äpplen i sockerlag. Viss bitterhet

Dark Christmas ale, aroma of marzipan, fruitcake. A sweet palate of berry fruit and a dryish fruity finish. Lacking the rich complexity of the best seasonal beers, and a little too sweet, not bad.

X-Maß closing up. This beer pours in Christmas colour Darm amber with red tones. Head small but firm and tanned. Taste is with bread spices and sweet hints of raisins and other dried fruit. Complex but a little short on the palate. From Belgoklubben. Will match nicely at the X-mast buffet.
