4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Holmen1 (1187) - NORWAY - MAY 27, 2013
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Holmen2 (68) - NORWAY - MAY 27, 2013
Brown in colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of dark Belgian abbey beers, dark caramel, cherries and overripe bananas. Round body with a slick texture. Aftertaste is complex, but has also in it something not so fresh, perhaps still reminiscent of overripe bananas?
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Swaroga (797) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAY 1, 2013
33cl bottle. Dark red/brown with small to medium, tanned head. Nose : yeast, chocolate, dried fruits like dates and raisins. Vanilla. Sip : medium body with creamy texture and decent carbonation. Sweet and full of dried fruits and toffee notes. Add some spices and chocolate. The beer is sweet till the end. Hides well the alcohol. Tasty but can get cloying.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 StoutHead (250) - DENMARK - MAR 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours deeply red with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and fruits. Wow, very sweet and intense fruity taste. Very Belgian ale in style (as it is), but more fruity than most. As for the carbonation?...I guess the technical term is..."a shitload". :-) Long aftertaste of malt, fruits and alcohol. Not bad, reminds me a lot of Gulden Draak, but with a longer aftertaste.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 andriesradu (198) - ROMANIA - FEB 23, 2013
Dark brown reddish beer with almost no head. Sweet fruity aroma, alcohol can be felt, it’s more wine than beer. Flavour is sweet, with notes of fruits and alcohol, no acidity, as a said it’s more wine than beer but a good one.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Imaena (1073) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 1, 2013
Bottle in Bangor ME just before departing for Scotland. This was a BSA that stands out in my notes as an underwhelming brew. Just missing some pieces here and there - would give it a miss.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DruncanVeasey (6182) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2012
330ml bottle off the in-laws. Pours beige-slicked mahogany. Ripe berries, sweet oak, evocative coriandered strawberry jelly aroma. Smooth, spiced berry sweetness with lurking pineapple and lemon barley wheat; hints of sweet sour sauce. Sweet, sticky spiced festive Belgian that slips down nicely in small doses- will need assistance with the 750ml 2006 bottle under the stairs.

Ølkonsortiets julekalender.
Uts: mørk rødbrun, masse lysebrunt skum, godt med kullsyre.
Duft: malt og tung sødme godt balansert av humle og belgisk gjær. Noe alkohol.
Smak: middels fyldig, mørk malt og noe fruktighet. Kort ettersmak og kjedelig munnfølelse.
