3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 Big fan of De Bie, so not much argument ensued when recommended by Richard of Utobeer. Dark orange-brown in colour - no head in sight. A whole swarm of yummies hanging out at the bottom of my Bie glass. Most of the sediment prefers the bottle. Very clean aroma - sweet and fruity. Like a mouthful of rather spicy raisins with cherries, plums and nuts keepin em company. Sweet start, spicy interlude, bitter finish. It’s growing on me with every sip. An interesting treat.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 11/98, dranked 05/06: Dark brown with reddish hew and a fine white head. Still
lively carbonation and fine head. The beer was very filling in the mouth and was at first extremely sweet but then it got sour afterwards - plums and cherries. I had a rough time drinking the whole beer due to its strong sour and sweetness. Exciting! (Great to share)

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This bottle has a use by date of april 04, so im assuming its about 4/5 years old at least. Aroma starts with a bit of marmite, so i leave it for a while to air, it then turns to plumy drune notes with candysuger and some yeast. Taste is similar and excellent alround it is shoing a little age character too, and the amount of sediment in the bottle adds to that. One maybe to buy again and keep for a few more years to see how it matures further.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A Sim rate:
33cl bottle from the Beer Shop. Smells like Welch’s Grape Juice and bubblegum. Taste is very similar. Lots of grape, a little orange and maybe some cherry. That’s all I can say really. Nice enough though.
