300ml bottle from glouglouburp. Hazy gold, plenty of floaties - large fizzy/frothy diminishing white head. Tart, borderline sour lemon aroma, background sweet fruity malt, mild yeast, middling alcohol. Taste is - aged fruitcake drenched in rum or gin - sweet, candyish, fruity, slightly funky - nice, really. Light, watery, undercarbonated, quick-finishing, slightly boozy and dry. Maybe aging a bit, but I quite liked the sourness juxtaposed with the candied fruit sweetness, and it really didn’t seem like 9%

2008 vintage. An amber ale with floaties and a thick collapsing white head. In aroma, sweet maderized malt with orange peels, light doughy characted, signs of age. In mouth, a smooth sweet honey malt with musty notes, curacao, oxidized but still good. Bieropholie import.

Pours a hazy yellow, orange color. Smells not good, can’t tell what it is. Taste is a little bit better but not a winner for me. Only thing about it in my opinion is the carbs, which suit the 9% ABV.

2009 vintage
Orange golden colour, full and frothy white head. Aroma of raisins, malt, belgian yeast and spices. Quite alcoholic. Flavour sweetish, malty, yeasty, notes of raisins and other fruits. Rather spicy, nutmeg, cloves. Bit more pronounced bitter than expected (nice though). Finish subtle bitter.

Sampled the 2008 vintage at Känguruh Pub in Vienna. Pours a nice golden/amber with a fluffy white head. Smells of Christmas spices, particularly cloves and nutmeg. A little more bitter than expected on the finish. Overall a very nice and spicy Christmas beer. Frohe Weihnachten!

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. 2008 edition. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is citrus fruit, bread and toffee. The flavor is Belgian yeast, orange citrus and some very sugary syrup notes. Very sweet. There is little or no detectable alcohol, despite the beer clocking in at 9 percent. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
