Pours pale orange-brown with a small, staying, frothy, off-white head. Fine lacings. Aroma has caramel, sweet chocolate, some clear cardboard notes. Not particularly good.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Monkeypower (168) - Odense C, DENMARK - MAR 1, 2011
Johannes Larsen Ale. I would have expected a beer named after a painter with a focus on birds and nature, would have been a light and natural beer instead of this rather heavy ale. The beer is dark with a tanned head. Heavy malty aroma with caramel, coffee and oak. Bittersweet flavor, with a rather extraordinary metallic bitter bitaste.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Blom (778) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 16, 2009
Brown with a decent head. Roasted bread, nuts, a bit of soil are spotted in the aroma. Sweet chocolate-like flavours, and again I detect a bit of smoke in a Kerteminde-production. Don’t know why ... Well done, anyway.
