Keserű Mz meaning Bitter Honey, inspired by the infamous Polanski-movie, Bitter Moon is a strong, unfiltered, unpasteurized lager from the Ft Brewery. It is bright yellow and opaque, with a thick white head. Its bisquity, floral-honey sweetness, and its fruitiness resembling melon and mango are all work to hide the brutal bitterness of German hops Spalter and Magnum.

Keserű Mz is a genuine specialty from Ft north of Budapest and the first great surprise of the Hungarian Craft-Beer Revolution, kickstarted by the First Hungarian Craft Beer Festival, Főzdefeszt in May 2011. It is an experimental beer, said to create a new beer-style, called HopLager. HopLager is a triple-hopped, strong lager beer Hungarys answer to American Pale Ale.

@ Főzdefeszt Cloudy, golden coloured beer with a thin, white head. The aroma is fruity and hoppy. The taste is sweet at first but then its absolutely bitter with notes of herbs. The finish is long and dry, hoppy bitterness.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2016 Incredible to read its a lager! I wouldnt have said its a bottom fermentation beer! Hazy yellow colour, with a big white head, very smooth and fluffy. Very fruity aroma, citrus. Taste is bitter, nice herbal notes, honey, and again citrus. It starts sweet, then finishes quite dry. Thats a nice beer! It was very pleasant and drinkable. PS: Draught is better than in the bottle.

Great balance, big flavor, a little sour. very micro and tasty. very bitter hopping, which is terrific over the sweet honey and wheat.
