A very nice brew. Pours quite dark, with thin tan head. Aroma is rich, with hints of dark fruit. Taste is complex, notes of coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. Overall, a first class effort. Thumbs up!

Draught at the brewpub (10.5%). Near black, small head. Aroma of tropical fruits, licorice, banana an marzipan. Sweet and almondy. Full bodied with dense, yet spritzy mouthfeel, sprinkled with dusty coffee. Warming finish with mild bitterness. Big, but mild and drinker friendly.

On nitro tap at the brewery. Pours black with a rich tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a smooth roasted malt flavor with lots of molasses and a dry finish.

Sample at brewery on N 1st. Pours solid black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roast malt, Belgian yeast, citrus, fruit. Taste is quite Belgian with lots of roast malt and dark fruit. Very mild bittterness. Alcohol is noticeable. Medium body, lively carbonation. Would want this bottled and a year down the road again.
