Dec 16, 2007 Big ass can. Poured a muddy brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, lightly earhty, smoke and some peat. Tastes of caramel, smoke, earth, and roast.

May 24, 2008 16 oz can thanks to kyzr: Pours a transparent copper mahogany with ruby hues and a spotty-lacing off-white head. Semi-dry aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel with a touch of peat. Body starts with about average thickness and some lightly sweet caramel notes before a thinner, semi-dry finish. Could use a little more fullness and peat character, but a decent Scotch ale.

May 3, 2006 Draught at the Brewpub: Dark brown pellucid auburn color, nice head and lacing. Nose of light smoke (easy to drink) and a bit of sweet caramel. The flavor is chewy, lots of dark fruit and malts. Lingering smoke flavor and a pleasant overall drinker. Finishes clean.

Nov 15, 2007 Can from shigadeyo. Poured dark brown color with an average fizzy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malty aroma. Medium body with sticky texture. Heavy roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a standout canned beer.
