mcbackus (587), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2008 can from kyzr: pours a good amber witha huge off white head and good lacing. aroma is a wonderful earth pine hops not over bitter at allmice malt to go with all the hops. flavour is a bitter hop upfrontpf pine but balanced well with plenty of malt. the malt has a good sweetness to it, finishes a bitter hop again. nice brew BMan1113VR (708), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jul 25, 2008 Thanks to kyzr for throwing this little extra in. Pours with a large, thick off-white head covering a clear orange body. Aroma is all hops, of which they lean towards a citrus note. Taste is a nice lightly bitter single IPA, with a decently long bitter finish. Syrupy mouthfeel and lightly carbonated. BOLTZ7555 (417), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 18, 2008 Bottle courtesy of hillfiiiiire...THANKS NICK!!! An amazing looking beer; subtleties of gold, copper, and bronze throughout the body with a foam that never dissipates and leaves sticky lacing on the inside of the glass. Aroma is subtle...sweeter than most IPA’s...but hints of pine and citrus are there. Flavor is way too sugary for the style. There’s no "West Coast" in this one, for sure. As you are finishing, the bitterness finds its way to the palate. Interesting, but not a favorite. hillfiiiiire (157), Atoka, Tennessee, USA Jun 17, 2008 This beer looks real nice. Caramel body with a nice bubbly, frothy head. Aroma is piney and pale malts. I’m not too keen on it. The flavor is crystal malts with a sweet bitter appeal to it. Definitely well balanced, and I grow to enjoy it more with each sip. Finishes with a light bitter. Nice bubbly carbonation, and is about right for this beer. Well done beer, but there’s nothing that hugely stands out about it. Just pretty drinkable and all right. ChainGangGuy (1474), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 14, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a small, wispy, white head.
Smell: Some pine, lemongrass, and citrus rind with an underlying aroma of toffee.
Taste: Toffee-tasting maltiness with a fair amount of sweetness. Reasonably fruity. Tastes of citrus, pine. Moderate bitterness. Lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A solid India Pale Ale and in a can, no less.
