COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Olde Bongwater Hemp Porter was named by Kevin Head at The Rhino, a bar in Missoula. He originally wanted the beer as a house beer. It was such a hit, that others started asking for it. Now, you can find it in bars across western Montana. Some have criticized us of glorifying marijuana or giving hemp a bad image. We intend to do neither. Taste it & you’ll agree - it is GOOD!

On nitro at southside taproom. Pours dark chocolate brown with one inch of solid, creamy tan head. Aroma is in your face coffee and malts, hints of hemp oil. Flavor is wonderfully balanced dark roasted malts and hops. Wonderfully smooth mouthfeel, if anything just a little too much lingering sweet for a porter. A solid choice if wanting to check out kettlehouse. --- Mike, Missoula MT

Growler thanks to Toby, man this growler is at least two months old- seriously I should have drank it sooner, but I wanted to share it, and wow, this beer is fine. Opened with a massive release of carbonation, pours a pure black color with a massive thick beige head. A sweet roasted malt nose, some vegetal hemp notes. A sweet unusual flavor, strong herbs almost like drinking weed. Toasted malts, earth and ash. I don’t know what to say except the hemp flavor dominates in an awesome way, herbal like a wicked medicine. Very interesting. As to the state of the growler...I have no idea why this is so good after so long.

Brought back from Toby’s great Montana Growler round up. Pours out a brown topped with a small tan head. Aroma was of light smoke and roast malts. Taste was more of the roast malts and little spice.
