COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional Scottish ales, these beers focus on malt color and flavor with hops being almost imperceptible. Aged in American Red Oak our Shillings finish crisp and a wee bit sweet. Our Scottish ale is on the lighter end of the spectrum with our 36 Shilling being more robust and darker.

Can. Wow - this is not good at all. Decent clear amber pour with a foamy head. Aroma isn’t all that malty - more sweet. Super thin palate. Taste is green apple, kind of bland, a bit sweet and tart.

Pour from a 12oz can. Medium amber brew with moderate off white head. Sur aroma of unripe fruit, Taste reminds me of wheat ale - thin, light, a bit of bitter malt and grain ending in a tart / sour taste. Reminds me of Bell’s Oarsman Ale, but a little more malty. Thin palate, light bodied. Not at all what I expect from a Scottish Ale. I was humming "O Guid Ale Comes" when I popped open the can, but I fear this would fall short of Burn’s expectations...

12oz can thanks to nuplastikk: Pours a clear deep mahogany with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet light caramel malty nose with some light tartness and fruity notes. Starts with light effervescence and toasty caramel maltiness with a touch of peat and some vinegar notes before a thinner finish.

12 oz can: Aroma is filled with bready malt, slightly nutty, caramel, and bit a grassy hay like hops. Appearance is a clear amber slightly golden color with a medium white head that lingers. Taste is average a bit of malt grassy hops then finishing wwith a lingering carboated bitterness and maltiness on the backend. Overall, Nothing to write home about like most of the KeWeenaw brews. Cheers!
