3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Served on tap at Keweenaw Brewer in Houghton. Appeared as a clear, light gold with a light head. Aroma was of malts and pear-like hops. Taste was slightly malty upfront with a nice pear-tasting moderate to strong hop finish, although bitterness was low. Palate was decent. I am not big pale ale fan, but this one I could work with.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear golden orange color with not much head. Smells sweet, lots of pale malt. Also getting caramel, flowers, grass, and some light fruit. Taste is a tad too sweet, overpowers the slight bitterness. Good flavor though, lots of sweet malt to go with the floral and fruity hops. Finish has a slight stale taste but not bad. The malt and fruit lingers a while. Overall its pretty good but there are a few flaws. I would probably drink again though.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Poured a clear copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate citrus hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good can beer.

12oz Can. Thanks Sean! Leafy green minty aroma. Flavors bring me home. There’s a distinct yeast, mineral, and malt character underneath all Keweenaw beers. Some might point to fermentation flaws, but I’m really appreciating the unique blend for reminding me of the beers from home. Even the hop use is distinct, with a slightly metallic and grassy finish. This gets a little estery and cereal-grain focused in the middle, but maintains some hoppy Pale Ale-ness.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled from a can,
this ale had a clear orange-copper pour with a little burnt orange, it had an approximate one finger head of white bubbles that receded, this beer left some small spots and fingers of lacing on the sides of the glass,
there were aromas of toasted malt and bread, some bread sweetness and a bit of cake like sweetness with faint hops,
and flavors were light toasted malt, bread, some malt and bread sweetness with a less than medium hop bitterness,
the finish had more hop bitterness than I would expect,
the mouth feel was less than medium with a little creaminess on the palate,
an ok drink.

Six pack from Salute on Gull Road, Kalamazoo. Pour from a 12 oz can. Cler light amber brew with decent head and good head retention. Aroma of grass, a little crisp fruit, a little malt. Moderate sweet malt at the start transitioning to a grassy then bitter hops finish. Lingering weak bitter and astringency after the swallow. Hints of a caramel throughout, even towards the finish. Crisp, clean, very refined and well crafted.
