Straight for a can at the Varsity Theater for the Divine Fits show. Was billed as the best from Keweenaw by the bartender to me and I tend to agree after having their 4 most popular. Dark and molasses.

1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
On draft @ Old Dog Tavern. Pours a opaque black, appears to have very little carbonation. Taste is bland, quite thin and watery with some sweet taste and black licorice. Not too much there. Was pretty happy when this was finished.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can from my buddy Steve - thanks, hoss! Nice cola-looking pour, decent lacing and overall gives the appearance of robustness. Nose, however, starts to undercut that impression quickly, as itís mostly faded chocolate. Pleasant enough mouthfeel, but thereís not much of anything happening taste-wise. No bite, no depth to the dark flavors, just a mealy core with bland chocolate everywhere. Boring, almost like youíre not drinking beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft. Dark (black) color, small tan head. Found the flavor to be very minimal considering the color of the beer. Sweet edges, molasses flavors. Not a favorite.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a beautiful black with a creamy tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is malty, I canít put my finger on what else I taste but itís good, no hops detected. Palate is medium bodied, very smooth. Overall this is a great beer, the best one Iíve had from Keweenaw. Very smooth, very black, very good.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
12 oz can. Pours brown with a fizzy tan head that quickly goes to a thin film.
The aroma is sweet cola-ey roasted malts.
The flavor is sweet dark fruits with a bit of a sour twang with a little grainy roast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a cola like dark ale with a touch of sourness (infection?).

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium thin tan head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and slight hops. Light body with a slight vegetal character and flavors of toasted malt and a bit of earthy hops. The finish is short and leaves a overripe fruit aftertaste. Below average overall.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Served on tap at Keweenaw Brewery in Houghton, MI. Appearance was nice and dark (almost black) with a light beige head and eventual lacing. Aroma was of roasted malts with a slight fruity twinge. Taste was roasted malts - malty, coffee, slight chocolate - with a light to moderate hop finish. Palate was decent. Overall, not too bad but I think I prefer Point 2012 to this.
