3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle from jcwattsrugger. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a 1/2" white head. Aroma is very light, but Iím picking up hints of wheat, coriander, lemon and lime. The flavor profile reflects the aroma to the tee. Light bodied and tingly on the tongue. A refreshing brew. Would make a nice summertime beer.

Pours a cloudy, dull light orange color. Light citrus orange and wheat aroma. More citrus in the flavor, light wheat character, mild slickness in the finish with a medium body. Refreshing.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma is heavy yeast and light grains. Taste is Belgian yeast first, immediately turning into a bright citrus and grain flavor. The finnish is long with a coriander-like vegetal flavor. Interesting.

Very cloudy golden color with a white head. Aroma is citrus, wheat with a bit of sour pungentness. Dry tart fruitiness on the flavor. Soft detergent finish with some floral elements. Fairly straightforward.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cloudy. Thin bodied. Lots of coriander! I didnít really get any of the key lime. Maybe because of all the coriander. Iím just a fan of overly spiced wheats.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
I poured a 12oz bottle into a weizen glass. There was no apparent freshness date. I received this while at #BBC13.
Appearance: Pale yellow hue, mostly clear body with consistent bubbles visible. Forms a small, white, soapy head which evaporates and leaves no lacing.
Smell: Standard for the style, although a little milder than most. Clean, refreshing aroma.
Taste: There are more fruity wheat beers than you can shake a stick at, but you donít see too many American breweries experimenting with the witbier style. Though Key West Southernmost Wheat claims to be brewed with actual key lime as well as some other traditional spices and additives, it doesnít really come through in the taste. Thatís forgivable because at the core this is still a pretty tasty, solid witbier.
A light orange flavor seems to be the first thing I notice. A hint of spice is also detectable. Through the middle is more fruity and refreshing taste of lemonade but without any tartness. Just a touch of citrusy bitterness at the apex of the swig, where it then returns as it started with a light juice-like flavor. Coriander and orange peel flavors are noticeable in the aftertaste, but they fade quickly.
Drinkability: Considering the name of this product, thereís already an implication of the beerís drinkability. In fact, I have had this beer in Key West in the extreme heat of July and it was indeed as refreshing as marketed. The mouthfeel is thin and tepid, but extremely smooth , plus the clean aftertaste is ideal. At 5% ABV itís probably a little heavier than it needs to be, since I could see this palette being highly sessionable. Not that any real beer drinker will struggle with back to back servings, though.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma orange zest, banana, and clove. Pours ugly grapefruit juice colored with a decent head. Taste is subdued with bland orange pulp, banana and slight clove. Bland cardboard finish. Pleasant enough but forgettable.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2013 04-Aug-13 (12-oz bottle: Free sample bottle for stewarding the 2012 World Beer Cup in San Diego, CA)
This beer pours a very hazy, golden body with half an inch of white head that settles quickly to a thin ring. The nose offers aromas of sourdough bread, orange zest, and coriander. On the palate, itís very bready with a readily apparent soured character. Orange peel adds a lot of flavor as well, but only very gentle bitterness, and coriander is mild in comparison. The beer is medium in weight and comes across as being a bit heavy for a Belgian White. Carbonation is medium, and though the beer isnít sweet, itís not exactly dry either, so this isnít the most refreshing and thirst-quenching examples of the style. Overall, this is fine, but thereís just too much of that sourdough character here. Itís certainly drinkable, but doesnít generate any enthusiasm for me.
