Awful beer, not even refreshing which is the lowest compliment you can give a wheat ale because that’s there main goal, but this was as bland as bland gets. No imagination at all.

12 oz. bottle. Pours pale, hazy yellow with a large, foamy, white head. The aroma is lime, cloves, wheat, and hay. The flavor is very sweet, with a little citrus sourness. The palate is medium, slick, and acidic. Overall, this is an interesting beer, but the aroma is not complex and the palate is unpleasant.

12oz bottle, shared with friends over spring break. Half-hazy yellow color, minimal white head. Really nice clove aroma, orange peel. Moderate, but very crisp carbonation. Dry texture. Nice, sweet zesty taste. An enjoyable belgian wit.

Dogbrick (4843) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 4, 2012
Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 02/02/2012. This beer pours a slightly cloudy yellow color with a thin white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Citrus and grainy malt in the nose. Light body with flavors of lemon and lime, malt and spice. The finish is sweet and citrusy with a grainy aftertaste. Average overall.

Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 1, 2012
330 ml bottle in Germany, with again much thanks to Travlr for running this across the ocean for me. This really a spiced beer and not really a wheat much. I think if you like them, you might find this to be decent and refreshing for hot weather. Cloudy yellow gold, medium head. Aroma is banana, a little clove or other indistinct medicinal phenols, and a wheat bread malt. Light fruity palate with banana and citrusy wheat.

It’s not that it’s bad. It just doesn’t have much going on. Basic characteristics of a light Hef (as redundant as that sounds. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Liz. Pours dishwater gold with no real head. Lime is in the aroma. Near med body. Clean, spicy, citrusy. Not sure where the lime went. Certainly fits the style.
