Nicely hopped, still light enough for the Keys

bottled. amber with a slighty fruity nose. A bit overly carbonated, with a subtle hoppy finish. Decent comparing what was on offer in a key largo resort.

I had this beer at a restaurant in Cocoa Beach, FL named, "A N.Y. Pizza House." On an unrelated topic, the pizza was very good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but good. Especially if you like garlic.

I mention the restaurant for one reason. Because one of their lead cooks, and their resident beer guy, was one of the most hated employees according to the waitresses and other cooks.

Why? Because he was a know it all.

My final point about this restaurant. This same beer guy used to work for a Budweiser and Coors distributor, delivering beer. Other than that experience, he knows nothing about craft beer.

He was actually telling the waitresses to do something called, "Rolling" the beer. With all of their beers. But especially the craft beers so that the sediment doesn’t sit on the bottom.

So with that intro let me get to the review: FYI: The brewery is a few miles down the road. So this was truly a local beer.

Look: Typical Amber color. Bordering on Orange.

Aroma: My first stiff gave me an apple juice aroma. Then, as I delved in deeper, I began pulling out some light citrus notes. However the malt was definitely the main character of this beer.

Taste: It was a typical Amber Ale. Nothing special. Not bad. Not great. Just average. There was no apple in the flavor, which was surprising after the strength in the aroma.

Verdict If you’ve never had it, I recommend trying it (if for nothing else), for the experience.

Poured from bottle. Pours a pretty gold with hints of red, but this isn’t what I’d call an amber color. Head is maybe 1 1/2 fingers, but quickly dissipates to nothing, leaving no lacing. Aroma is a bit of toffee and a hint of hop, but pretty minimal. Taste starts as a traditional amber flavor - warm malt with hints of toffee and a touch of coffee, but then there is a very strange after taste with a bitter tang. I would normally associate that flavor with an off batch of extract beer. The after taste ruined what would have already been a meh beer.

Pours a copper color with a decent foamy head. Aroma is just slightly sweet and just slightly hoppy. Flavor is nicely balanced. A little sweet, but not too sweet, a little hoppy but not too hoppy. Definitely not bad, but completely forgettable.

From bottle. Clear amber color with a large white head. Malty aromas with caramel, yeast and fruit. Semisweet flavors with caramel and a bit of bitter hops on the finish.

Clear amber, with a fluffy, off-white head. Light, sweet caramel aroma. Malty caramel, trace of earthy hops... Slightly nutty.... Nothing outstanding, but no bad traits either. Not bad at all.

Bottle to glass at sea world. No real aroma and pretty bland flavor. Below Average at best.

An average beer at best. Super malty and slightly bitter. Has a hint of fruit. It is not a beer that you will have and remember. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Decent looking amber beer with a creamy white head that lasts a bit. Nose is absolutely bizarre--smells like blue-veined cheese and soap. Thankfully, the flavor is more on the soapy side than the cheesy side, but still not what you look for in a beer. It has a bit of malt flavor, but the aftertaste seems a bit off. Not great.
