2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 adam42381 (366) - Fort Myers, Florida, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Review from notes at World of Beer - Fort Myers on 10/8/11.
Poured on draft into a shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a medium golden caramel with a 1 finger snow white head. Minimal lacing. Doesn’t look like an amber/red ale.
Smell: Sweet berries and apricot. Not a lot going on here.
Taste: Tart fruitiness and sweet berries with a touch of a flavor I would compare to the aroma of a urinal cake up front followed by a little sweet malt in the middle before ending with a light touch of hops at the finish. Aftertaste is dry and light.
Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation.
Drinkability: Low drinkability. I wouldn’t want another.
Overall: Poor beer overall. This has nothing in common with any amber/red ales I’m familiar with. It’s like a poorly made version of Magic Hat #9. Avoid.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 22415brewery (315) - redmond, Washington, USA - SEP 27, 2011
On tap at some bar/restaurant on Key Largo. Pours a decent medium amber, fairly clear, minimal head with virtually no lacing. Definite extract twang note in aroma with minor blackcurrent and light citrus. Slight fusels and a little butter. No other definitive malt notes, nor yeast aromas. Tastes like a moderately bittered amber ale with medium to low malt flavor with virtually no hop presence. A definite starter beer, which displays qualities of a beer brewed with extract and fermented at a fairly high temperature. Might be better direct from the brewery, but not a few islands over.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Cavie (3407) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - SEP 9, 2011
This beer pours a light, clear copper orange color with a ring of white head. Aroma is dry and bready, some dried grass and hay with a light bitterness. Flavor is very dry grains, bread, a light bitterness. Finishes dry and grainy.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 burg326 (2391) - Florida, USA - JUL 30, 2011
Had in a 12 ounce bottle, aromas of copper, and caramel. Reminded of a yuengling, not too refreshing in Florida heat.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 coldbrewky (1337) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - JUL 6, 2011
Bottle via the Beer Gnome. Bless the Beer Gnome and his benevolent travel, for he brings me spoils from his journey. Lively and passion-fruity this brew is the perfect tone of the Florida Keys...alive and tingly. A nice amber in the glass does not last long on this hot day. head was solid and did not fade. Three cheers for Mike Kelly.

No aroma or flavor to speak of, like something made by miller or coors for an audience that is just getting into micros. Blah city

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a beige head. Caramel malt sweetness in the aroma. Bit of hops in the finish. Clean and easy drinking.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 wnoble (932) - French Lick, Indiana, USA - MAY 30, 2011
Pours a medium amber with a small thin film of a head. Some streamers racing to the top. Just about no hop character in the nose and some caramel and bread malts in the nose. Taste is some biscuit malts, caramel, and bread. No hop flavor to really speak of. medium light bodied and dry in the finish. Overall there isn’t a whole lot of flavor to speak of and it’s really light and malt forward. Not special to me but glad to try.

translucent copper with a thin beige head, medium-full body with medium carbonation.
aroma: amber malt, leafy citrusy piney hops, some minerality, and something unpleasant.
taste: amber malt, and a clinging coppery and nitrate-like minerality.

A modest 3.3. Good overall caramel malts. Heavy. Taste makes it smooth as well and I think this is a smooth cruiser. I would enjoy it on draft. First Ive had by florida brewing company. OK overall.
