2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 PhillyBeer2112 (2364) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - JUL 30, 2010
I can sum of my rating of this in one word: blargh. Dark copper color, modest head. Light bready nose with a hint of spicy hops. Fairly dry in flavor, with dry toasty malts leading into a hoppy finish. The hops are not to my liking, if I had to guess, its northern brewer, which to me tastes a little mushroomy, spicy, and vegetal and is my least favorite hop. This is highly reminiscent of Fat Tire, which is another beer that makes me blargh. One point: after actively disliking the first 1/3 of a glass of this, I finished the rest as a means of washing down a big italian sub, and the strong flavors of the sub did a good job of smoothing out the beer, so at the least it can partner to food, but its not something to enjoy on its own.

Pours orange amber color with off white head. Grassy and cereal malt aromas. Bland caramel malt flavor with some mild hop bitterness. Light to medium body with average carbonation.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BelgianBeerGal (2224) - Dayton Area, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2008
Bottle from trade with DAKNOLE. Pours a coppery brown colour with a medium head that melts quickly. Aroma is mostly caramely malt plus a litt sugar at the end. More sweetness than anything else in the flavour with a little bitterness in the finish but not really "hoppy". Average but probably much better on a Key West beach.

Pours a clear orange copper color with a medium white head. Aroma of fruity malts and a hint of wheat. Taste is a bland malty wheat flavored ale. Nothing special here.

Bottle: Clear orange color with a small head. Nose is fairly sweet and nondescript. Some maltiness and florals. Taste is a little sweet with caramel and malt with a little hops. Not very inspiring, but it was my first Florida made ale. Thanks Jordan for the beer fridge freebie.
