12 oz can. Light gold color. Large white foamy head. Aroma is slightly sweet, with lots of grains. A medium to light bodied pale lager. Malts are sweet and grainy. There is the slightest touch of hop bitterness. “Hops, what are hops?” Smooth taste, but not a lot of flavor. Mostly sweet, kind of neutral tasting. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

Sampled during Swig-a-Swill Guzzler in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear golden straw brew with a thin white head that quickly disappears clean. Aroma of golden grain malt, corn, and grassy hops. Taste is slightly metallic, some carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, corn and grassy hops. Finish is still watery with some extra alcohol kick. I’ll leave this one for the college party category.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2005 Another macro with corn and slight hops. What a surprise!! I think that this is a joke and like all Keystones should be very cheap for the masses.

Another unsurprising offering from Coors. Yellow-gold with big detergent head that runs away quickly. Corn starchy aroma. The flavor is actually very mellow malt with just a kiss of bitter finish. Not as bad as it could be.

This was pitted head-to-head against Lost Lake Ice in the Great American Shite Beer Taste-Off. Colorado vs Wisconsin. Ice vs Ice. This poured a pale straw colour with a brief white foamy cap. Almost no aroma other than a bicarbonate tang and faint graininess. Flavour is sweet bland grain with almost no aftertaste. You would never know this is 5.9%. Then again you would never know this is real beer either.

Ahh swill for breakfast! This brew poured from a can had a medium sized head of mostly diminishing white colored foamy bubbles that left behind no lace and a carbonated transparent straw yellow colored body. It has a nice aroma for an American Standard with a notable malt content that can be smelled from a foot away. The mouthfeel was bubly and smooth from start to its dry finish. Its flavor was mild malty and had a slight hop content. Hmmm I think I liked it better than most American Standards I have rated thus far.

For a budget macro Ice - not all that bad - compared to Old Mil which I had earlier. Actually has a sweet aroma. Decent pillowy white head. Flavor does not constrict your throat like other budget ices. Very drinkable - alcohol not evident.

I love Keystone Light but I really don’t like its Ice counterpart. The Light is light enough that the taste and palate are unobtrusive and tolerable. Ice has more alcohol - which is great - but I think the taste suffers.

(24oz can best by 9-27-10 thanks to mar) pale yellow, good lasting white bubbles and lacing. Nose of apple, cracker, papery, meat. Taste of cracker, grain mash, water and light butter. Nothing too offensive, and it actually tastes like beer. Old grain, watery and paper round this one out.
