Bottle at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo.The pour is hayz and copper-colored, with an off-white head. Fruity nose with both dried and fresh fruits, like apple and pear, and there’s also some malty aromas. The flavor is much the same, with the added joy of a yeasty note. Medium to full, sweetish body, and a dry yet sweetish finish. Sure, it’s a quite nice beer, but too fruity in my book. (080410)

Jul 11, 2008 Pours copper with a thin off white head. Smells of dark fruit, caramel, sweet malt, sugar, molasses, alcohol. Tastes boozy with some fruity hints. Too much sweetness on the finish.

Jul 2, 2008 deep amber pour. nice rich head. sweet fruit and malt in the aroma. dark fruits and alcohol in the flavor. rather sweet with some malt in the backbone. fairly smooth mouthfeel with a warming alcohol finish.

Jun 23, 2008 Tap @ Ginger Man. Poured a clear deep cherry wood color with a beige head. Sweet aroma with notes of plums and figs. The flavor is also sweet with dark fruits but drys slightly. Medium bodied with a silky feel on the tongue. Good warmth with zero alcohol flavor or aroma. Tasty and very drinkable but not on the level of the top ones.

Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the Ginger Man. Pours a deep red with a small head. Aroma of raisin, dark fruits. Flavor of Belgian yeast, alcohol, honey. Very hot and gets worse as it warms. Very sweet as well, a real sugary, alcoholic mess. Reminds me of mead or Kasteel Brune. Ick.

Jun 22, 2008 On tap at Ginger Man. Aroma of light asphalt, musty grass, caramelized fruits, medicinal fruits. In the mouth, medicinal fruits dominate. Not pleasant, and not even interesting enough to get a few giveaway points.
