JanLaursen (2145) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2012
Bottle, 33 cl. Almost clear reddish brown with a small, but stabble beige head. Ripe fruity, almost winegum-like nose. Taste is smooth malty, caramel, dark fruity, light nutty. Full bodied, sticky texture, lingering fruity finish. Nice one...

Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear reddish brown with a creamy beige head - comes as a slow gusher. Rustic aroma of overripe - even rotten - dark fruit, quite pruney with a hint of wood and Brett. Rich and filling body - very enjoyable - but the carbonation has these huge and vulgar Belgian bubbles. Again prunes and overripe fruit combined with brown sugars and some decent balancing hops. Nice - apart from the excessive carbonation. 131112

Swaroga (788) - Brussels, BELGIUM - OCT 13, 2012
33cl bottle. Dark red with medium tanned head. Nose : strong red fruits notes with dominating cherry. Tart with delicate burned aroma. Vanilla. Some flower and honey background. Sip : medium thick body with oily texture and low carbonation. Sweet with cooked fruits flavor. Bubblegum. It ends with well balanced sourness and a pinch of metal. some delicate chocolate with malaga background. Overall it is a nicely bodied brew with awfully balanced flavors. I would prefer some more audacity. Anyway, I still like this one.

BlackHaddock (2350) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 10, 2012
33cl bottle: labelled as ’Strandjuttersbier MONG de Vos, bought with a pack of other brews at a beer shop in Wenduine who have it bottled/labelled for them. Poured into a Westmalle chalice on 10th Oct 2012 @ home: no sediment left the bottle. Browny red sort of hue to the colour: the thin off-white head didn’t even stay as long as it’s took to write this! The smells were/are of stewed plums and candid fruits for a cake mix: this is one alcohol laden fruit cake in a glass. The taste is very simular to what your nose is telling you: rich, alcoholic and fruity (plums and raisins mostly). Sweet and fairly thin bodied for the alcohol content, the alcohol is present from the start and is barely hidden. It does however give the beer a punch and helps to hide the lack of body. This is a ’roaring fire’ sort of winter beer: I enjoyed it.

Svesse (5195) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 3, 2012
(Draught at Bier Circus, Brussels, 20 July 2012) Dark brown colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit, prunes and raisins. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, prunes, raisins, brown sugar, hints of chocolate and a mild, fruity acidity in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness and a moderate bitterness. Well balanced and tasty. Quite nice.

erickok (2280) - Tours, FRANCE - AUG 21, 2012
Cloudy dark copper body with bubbly, frothy tan head. Aroma has oatmeal cookies, pumpkin pie, funky figs and some dark hops. Medium sweet. Heavy carbonation, but not unpleasant and it helps getting the body to foam and produce flavour. Very malty, caramel taste, with fermenting fruit and sticky dades. Marmite, even. Sweet, concentrated ending. Loads of residual sugars but not bad at all. Watch the high abv! (33cl bottle, very reasonably priced)

The bottle says this dobbel tripel is a smooth refermented strong beer with a warm ruby glitter, brewed with pride and patience. It is patiently brewed by brouwerij strubbe in Ichtegem, Belgium in cooperation with "de Oostendse bierjutters". As I live at the belgian coast, near to Ostend, I might have an opinion wich could be considered rather subjective, but you really should taste this creamy, roasty caramel bitterness while having the seagulls stealing half of your pot of nuts on the promenade of Ostend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Wit loof from Belgium.
