Draught @ <a href=http://ratebeer.com/events-detail.asp?eventID target=_new> Zythos Bier Festival 2008, Sint Niklaas, Belgium. Clear sparkling medium amber red brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate to heavy gum, earth, dust. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is lively (Co2). (010308)

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has notes of cherries, malt, caramel, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, bread, berries, and malt, leading to a dry finish.

ZBF2008: From tap. Pours hazy brown with a dense and collapsing white head. Light spiced aroma, coriander. Flavour is mild yeasty, light metallic note, mild coriander spice and a smooth caramel malt. Ends with a lingering spice finish.6-3-7-4-14=3.4

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear reddish brown with a creamy beige head - comes as a slow gusher. Rustic aroma of overripe - even rotten - dark fruit, quite pruney with a hint of wood and Brett. Rich and filling body - very enjoyable - but the carbonation has these huge and vulgar Belgian bubbles. Again prunes and overripe fruit combined with brown sugars and some decent balancing hops. Nice - apart from the excessive carbonation. 131112

Bottled (as Strandjutterbier Mong de Vos, thanks fonefan!). Reddish brown colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some alcohol, quite yeasty notes as well as mild sourness and spices. Flavour is being quite much the same with alcohol being more stinging and aggressive. Yet drinkable, especially with some cheese along with it.

Draught at ZBF 2010. Hazy orange brown coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet and malty aroma of caramel, yeast and spicces. Sweet flavour of caramel and spices with notes of dried fruits. Sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty spicy caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy caramel finish.

33cl bottle @ Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Pours dark brown with a reddish hew and a creamy white head. Nose is sweet of yeast and dark fruits. Smooth and full bodied. A little metal/iron in the taste which also is packed with caramel and brown sugar. Some off flavors and actually a bit boring. OK

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are fruits, yeast, caramel, malt and hops.

(750ml bottle) Pours a mahogany body with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of raisins, nuts, apple, figs, and some oxidation. Flavor of raisins, dates, brown sugar, earthiness, roasted malt, and nuts with a dry finish.
