2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at Schelkunchik, St. Petersburg. Clear dark brown, no head. Aroma of lingonberry and rye bread. Underlying sweetness counteracted by a tartness. Light bodied with clean mouthfeel. Lots of rye bread, no bitterness. Refreshing, especially for a Baltika product.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: The pour is a nice mahogany color with absolutely no head.
S: I had zero expectations of this coming in, but the nose put me off right away. A strong note of prunes and a noticeable sweetness. A bit of an herbal smell that I pick up with some of these "traditional" beers (ie. Sahti, Gruit).
T: The flavor is quite sweet and cola-like, especially up front. The dark fruit and plenty of sweet prune juice follows. In retrospect, it’s more along the lines of Dr. Pepper.
M: The body is semi-syrupy with a low carbonation and medium body.
D: I tried this because I was interested in trying the style, but I do not have any burning desire to try it again. I just was not a huge fan of this one.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
1.5l bottle (My local market, Tallinn)
Very dark red, but coca-cola fizzy. Sweet bready aroma. Fizzy in the mouth. Toasty crusts in the retronasals. Sweet taste, but really bready - they’re clearly pushing that aspect, as the picture’s of grains and bread, and the name seems to be a bread word (and presumably the root of the Finnish ’leipa’ and Estonian ’leib’). Not really traditional - no crap in it, completely clear, and pretty sweet, but falling short of the crazy sweetness of some modern commercial kvasses. One of Baltika’s better brews!

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
It pours with a fizzy brown/tan head that quickly dissipares with no lacing.
The smell isn’t bad. It is chock full of rye bread and raisins, not much else, but it isn’t offensive.
The flavor is again, rye bread and raisins, this time with a kick of sugar/caramel. It has a highly carbonated dry/tart mouthfeel.
It is a bit sweet but other than that it is pretty easy to drink.
My first Квас, definitely looking forward to more.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at Haket during Gothenburg Beer Festival 2011
Sampled on Friday September 2, 2011
Clear brown color, tan head. sweet sirupy scent. Sweet raissin taste. Smooth mouthfeel, no bitterness.
Some at the festival cursed this and called it disgusting, I mainly call it sweet, like liquid raissins, even I with my sweet tooth couldn’t drink too much of this one, but for sipping it wasn’t bad at all!

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sample @ Gothenburg Beerfest 2011. 2-9-2011
ambre claire, beige
