"The Nepalese and British people have long enjoyed a unique friendship epitomised by the noble Ghurka Regiments of the British Army. Their famous fighting knife lends its name to this spectacular beer. Its creation is the harmonious product of original Nepalese recipes and the brewing traditions of J.W.Lees one of Britain's oldest Independent Breweries. working in partnership Manhanta Sherestha a native of Katmandu and Head Brewer Giles Dennis have striven to capture the essence of Nepalese taste and culture in this superbly smooth premium beer."

Pale golden. Typical faint aroma of malts with little grassy hops. Little pilsener-like but too much starch on the flavor

Bottle in the Yak and Yeti restaurant, York. Bright clear gold beer, good white head. Palate is light, semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Thin but clean pale malts, no paper. Modest lager character. Very modest tangy citrus. Light finish. Somewhat fresh air but tbere are many worse lagers out there.

Pours clear blonde, small white head. Smell is corns, intense, crispy. taste is weak. Mild bitterness, holow mouthfeel. the scent made me expect a bit of positivity, but the taste lacks everything I thought might have been there. Also, I really, really hate the fact how they place it in the market as a nepalese beer. These UK-brewers should at least be honest to their customers. hence the lowest score on appearance !

Vaalean kultainen, yllättävän paksun pienikuplaisen vaahdon tarjoava olut. Tuoksu, samoin kuin maku pääasiassa hyvin tunkkainen/pahvinen. Ei tästä raikasta saa tekemälläkään.

Tallahassee, Fl. 500 ml bottle from Persis Indian Restaurant. Solid Indian type lager, slight haze to the medium golden pour, soft snow white head, nice bubble action. Some honey sweetness, pleasant grainy notes, went well with my Father’s Day Indian spicy Indian cuisine.

Taste: crisp airy, bitter, wheat, carbonated, an odd skunked nose. Gold, clear, soapy head. I wonder if bottle color added to stale flavor

660ml green bottle. Pale gold pour, skunky aroma. Flavor is metallic, not a huge amount of skunk, a bit sweet for the style, not repulsive.

330ml bottle from Oakham Wines (Rutland): poured into a Duvel glass at home on 20th March 2016. Clear golden amber body, good, deep and full white blanket on top. Malty nose and flavour with a good hop bittering balance, one of the better UK brewed lagers in my opinion. Went down very well with some English Cheeses and salted biscuits.

330ml bottle, then a 660ml bottle @ Avatar Nepalese restaurant, Shrewsbury. A very fine Nepalese restaurant indeed. Pours gold, white head. Aroma is sweet pale malt. Taste is clean, lightly sweet, pale malt. Not a bad lager really. Went well with my Vindaloo.

330 ml. green bottle sampled. Thank you! BBF 17.03.2016. Sold as a Nepalese beer but not made there, I almost wonder if this is even sold in Nepal. A small gusher – seriously, a fist one for a macro beer. The least you can expect from a macro beer like this is no issues like that. Never encountered that before. Very pale clear golden, little head. Nose is awful rotting thin, hugely watery metallic corn, hugely oily & spoiled. Taste is hugely oily & watery, spoiled, rotting corn, mold, terrible oily tea, sugar, artificial, chemical, mineral,… Body is thin, watery, chemical & overly metallic. Really bad beer. Rubbish really even if you taking non-beer country standard in mind.
