Heller High Water is a Pale (hell) straw coloured Bavarian Lager. Brewed with German malts, German noble hops and a genuine Munich yeast. High Water is a classic example of the session beers enjoyed in Bavarian beer gardens. Our seasonal offering has a clean malt flavour with a slight hop presence, perfectly balanced for Summer quaffing. Come Heller High Water, you will enjoy this beer. The Story While paddling down the Ottawa River (aka the Kichesippi), you will enter into a set of rapids know as Lower McCoy’s close to the town of Beachburg. Just to the right of the rapids is a metal ruler bolted to a large rock that displays to paddlers whether they are about to experience High Water or not.

Pale golden pour with a touch of haze and a bit of white head. The nose is softly hoppy and a little bit spicy. Some soft lemony herbal spice aroma. Fresh and really well balanced. Bready malt. I’m shocked at how good this is.

Can: Poured a pale yellow color Helles with a medium size white head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of unrefined grainy malt with light cereal notes. Taste is also dominated by cereal notes with unrefined grainy notes. Light butter and herbal notes can also be detected. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Malt bill is not clean enough for my taste.

On tap at the Ottawa Beerfest.  It pours a crystal clear light gold. An earthy bready aroma with some soft hop notes. Medium bodied, bready earthy, crisp finish, solid malts and light hops. A top knotch lager. This hit the spot & provided a welcome break from all the hoppy beers. A clean well-made lager.

On tap at D’Arcy McGee’s (Kanata). Clear blonde with a frothy white head. Flavors are crisp cereals, crackers and citrus with herbal and spicy notes. A bit buttery. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, slick texture. Good stuff.

Very pale, light gold pour, with a small white head. Zesty aroma, herbal hops, hints of lemon. Malts are frisp and clean, solid cereals, but a tad thin. Low bitterness, solid beer.

473 ml can from brewery. Pours a clear golden yellow with frothy white head. Aroma is gently toasty biscuit, a hint of sweetness and some minerally character. Flavour is mildly toasty grains, minerals and a slight sweet fruity note. Average body. Is fairly quaffable but not super exciting.

On tap et Brothers Beer Bistro (Ottawa, ON). Urine-like pale blond body with heavy carbonation and a thin white foamy head. Light malty aroma with grassy hints. Its thin malty/hoppy taste carries bready notes and ends with a short bitter/herbal finish. Ordinary.

Not a bad session beer to drain by the pitcher, but not the best detox breaker either. Pours amber with decent head and lacing. Some caramelized malt and a light sweet finish. Anyway one harmless put,her isn’t enough to end my detox. Tap at mugshots.

[on tap at Big Rig brewpub] Yeasty soda cracker aroma with some fruit accents. Clear gold under lacy, pristine white. Crisp malt flavour with some noble hops character. Creamy and clean. Light body, medium carbonation.
