COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in small batches to ensure that freshness and quality are never compromised. Our focus is to offer our customers a balanced complexity of aroma and flavour. Natural Blonde uses 3 different Malts and distinct hops in order to achieve this goal. The result is a refreshing Blonde beer with 26 IBU’s and 4.9% alcohol. Style Our Kichesippi Natural Blonde is an all malt Pale Ale. Aroma A noble hop presence offers hints of spice, citrus and caramel. Palate The hop presence introduces the palate to a subtle fruitiness and light malt flavours. A medium bitterness at the end makes this a food friendly brew.

355 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear golden colour with modest-sized white head. Aroma is citric fruit, sort of orangey, biscuit and light grass. Flavour is biscuity grains, interesting orange note and a mellow grassiness. Astringent finish. Not bad.

A completely new Ottawa brewery, and very welcome it is too. Hopefully it will encourage Heritage/Scotch Irish and The Clocktower to pull their socks up a bit. Enjoyed on tap as a 20oz pint at Pub Italia on Preston. The beer arrived with a 1cm head of dense, small, white bubbles, riding on top of a rich golden yellow body. The head subsided gently over a five minute period, and released aromas of orange and grapefruit, backed by a little caramel and bread-like yeast. In the mouth a refreshing but not overpowering effervescence livened things up, with a medium bodied balance as you would expect from a light summer ale. Flavours were dominated by a very similar palette to the nose, with perhaps a slight increase in the malt and yeast aspects, finishing slightly sweet to the back of the mouth. Very refreshing and probably will become my default terasse beer of the summer.

On tap at Chez Lucien. Clear yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is cereals, corn, a bit of sweetness. Taste is fresh malts, caramel with spicy notes. Light body, moderate carbonation, watery. Weird salty and earthy finish.

Pours blonde. Not so bad really, for what it is. Decent head and lacing. Crisp finish. Tap at Black Tomato.

On tap @ Elmdale Osterhouse Ottawa. Pours a clear, pale blond with a modest creamy white head. Aromas are very much like Steamwhistle, corn and grain dominant. Tastes are grain and corn with a metallic tinge. Slight bitterness present as well. Thin, light body, a bit of bite from the carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Bottle, from the brewery (6 pack - also sampled it on tap there). Pretty distinct hop aroma which I am learning is a house trait it would seem - I like it . Light bread notes as well. Pours a clear medium yellow with a creamy white head. Taste - not just another flagship blonde here folks, there is way more hops in here than expected. Spicy with some citrus, this one has a lot of bite - the 1855 is the crowd pleasing option from this brewery - this blonde is pushing the limits in terms of flavour. I guess I just find it pretty interesting. Fresh counts obviously. I had a couple of these on the weekend while bbq’ing from the bottle and one tonight a little more refined from the glass but have enjoyed them equally. This is a good beer that I will buy again, likely in quantity as the weather warms (does the weather warm in Russell, ON btw?).

Bottle. Clear golden pour, small white head. Doughy, cereal aroma, with very light grassy, papery hops. Mouthfeel was a little fuller then i like for a basic golden ale, the carb was a touch low. The finish was vegetal, and the cereals are being pushed aside by this apple sweetness.

20z on tap @ chez lucien A: cereal, honey, wheat. App: clear golden small white head. T/p: light body finish is bitter and short. average carbonation. O: OK refreshing does the job nothing spectacular.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry slightly unrefined cereal notes is OK. Taste is a mix between some unrefined cereal notes with light sweet malt notes and no discernable hops presence. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Not bad overall but light unrefined cereal notes didn’t please me particularly.
