3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 2, 2010
A blonde golden ale with a thick off white head. A nice pleasant floral hops aroma with caramel and berries. In mouth, a nice biscuitty malt, British hops, quite nice and refreshing. Medium bodied. On tap at Cheshire Cat, May 29 2010.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 23, 2010
2010-08-21. Crisp golden yellow body with a small white head. 3+ Mild grassy hop aroma has just a kiss of barnyard to it that seems out of place. 6+ Flavour is mild, primarily grassy straw like grains, muted hops and a slightly odd bitterness that lingers in the finish. Average to light palate. Bit strange actually. On tap at Beer Bistro, Toronto
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 HogTownHarry (5639) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 17, 2010
August 21, 2010 - Golden Tap Awards at BeerBistro. Clear bright light amber-tinged gold with a small frothy white head. Do not like that aroma - generic hop extract bitterness and some sort of industrial solvent, really sharp. Taste is ... weird; dry grain, weed killer, vaguely floral. Watery, still, long harsh bitter finish ... fairly ugly, and thin to boot.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 blankboy (5152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 23, 2010
Draught at Golden Tap Awards 2010, beerbistro. Pours a clear golden-orange with a small diminishing white head. Aroma: Meh, not bad but not good and frankly I wasn’t expecting much, there’s paper, malt and light grassy hops. Flavour on the other hand is bad, dry & bitter with wood, paper and vegetal notes. Average bodied. Sorry, not good at all.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mabel (5043) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 21, 2010
[3354-20100821] Sample. Earthy peat grass notes aroma with meld petrol farts. Clear, light orange yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Mild dusty fruit throughout the flavour but is mostly grainy bitter watery malt. Medium body. Medium body. Fair.

(Rating #3319)
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Boutip (3971) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 6, 2012
Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry slightly unrefined cereal notes is OK. Taste is a mix between some unrefined cereal notes with light sweet malt notes and no discernable hops presence. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Not bad overall but light unrefined cereal notes didn’t please me particularly.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gorbalev (2823) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 26, 2013
Bottle, from the brewery (6 pack - also sampled it on tap there). Pretty distinct hop aroma which I am learning is a house trait it would seem - I like it . Light bread notes as well. Pours a clear medium yellow with a creamy white head. Taste - not just another flagship blonde here folks, there is way more hops in here than expected. Spicy with some citrus, this one has a lot of bite - the 1855 is the crowd pleasing option from this brewery - this blonde is pushing the limits in terms of flavour. I guess I just find it pretty interesting. Fresh counts obviously. I had a couple of these on the weekend while bbq’ing from the bottle and one tonight a little more refined from the glass but have enjoyed them equally. This is a good beer that I will buy again, likely in quantity as the weather warms (does the weather warm in Russell, ON btw?).

Bottle.
Clear golden pour, small white head. Doughy, cereal aroma, with very light grassy, papery hops. Mouthfeel was a little fuller then i like for a basic golden ale, the carb was a touch low. The finish was vegetal, and the cereals are being pushed aside by this apple sweetness.

355ml bottle, clear honey gold color, with a thick bubbly white head, nice crunched grainy pale, toasted malt cereal, mild floral, earthy leafy hop nose, with a light mineral watery, wet straw accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp honeyed bready, pale, toasted malt, earthy raw vegetable flowery green tobacco leaf, grassy hop character, with a zesty lime rind, light mineral water backbone, leading towards an earthty citrus, lime peel hop, lingering leafy dryness finish.
