COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle received in the local European swap, thanks to Saeglopur. Pours hazy golden with a medium sized off white head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Sugar, alcohol and berries in the nose. Slightly sharp. Flavour has bread, berries, sugar, hay, citrus. Medium body, light sticky texture, soft carbonation, low bitterness, light acidic. Fairly alcoholic. Sharp finish. Pass.

330 ml bottle, no. 006813/18.000, cellared for 2 years.
Deep amber to copper, almost cloudy body, with a medium, fluffy, moderately lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of minty and menthol like spices, needles, wood, citrus candy, some honey.
Taste follows this pretty much, with some more grassy notes.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes spicy, sweet honey like, medium dry, slightly bitter, with some alcohol warmth

Very nice. Really interesting fresh spicy and wooden notes, with enough sweetness for a good balance. Alcohol is a bit there, but drinks good for the ABV. My favourite Waldbier so far.

bartlebier (3346) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - APR 30, 2015
33cl, 2013 vintage stored 1,5yrs. Moussy deep golden-amber pour. Exotic-spicy, soapy nose of Chinese candied ginger and firtree bathfoam, underlaying sweet mousse and orchard fruit caramels, honey. Carries most nuances over into medium-full bodied taste, making good use of its 8%: pickled citrus zest marmelade made with natural fir resins for pectins, sweet ginger, smoky-caramelised peach with a residual tartness, firwood airspray condensed into dessert mousse. Not much of an abv nose. Well balanced, complex, homily exotic and well drinkable.

bastarda (413) - Freiburg, GERMANY - APR 26, 2015
Shared by bartlebier on April brewpub, thanks. Forest aroma, hints of cheesy yeast, perhaps due to aging, some floral and honey notes as well, caramel sweetness in taste, herbal honey, nicely balanced by a bit of a sour note and really some forest green, spruce tips covered in honey and fermented resin, thus far away from bubblebath cleanliness. Interesting experiment.

Tap BKL. Number 1, the larch, the larch. The larch has a strong resinny nose, some sour notes in the body , dry fruity notes, a hint smoke, tripellike complexity, really interesting.
