Pale, dark colour, without head. Sweet, malt aroma. Bitter-swel malt flavours. Little bit spicy.

Draft: Had this while in Ireland. I'm not sure how it would be otherwise but that made it pretty tolerable. Good color and good head. Had it again 2 weeks later in an Irish Pub in Paris. Tasted o.k. but more like killians rat piss compared to when I first tried it.

Amber colored with a thick, cream colored nitro head. Kind of sweet, and kind of nutty. Dry bitter finish. Decent, but not great.

Finally had this lard juice thanks to the Bardz who let me have some of his schooner at the Royal the other night. This, for some reason, is a regular on tap in Sydney pubs. It tastes like an even more watery version of the CUB guiness that gets pumped out over here. There is a hint of stale nuts and if I had my own schooner I would have hit the pokies.

I bought a "sleeve" of this in Whistler B.C. on a sweltering day (after showing two official forms of I.D.to the exceedingly anal bartender)and watched a bunch of nuts on mountain bikes scream down the slopes into another pack of nuts waiting to get on the lift. It was a very enjoyable experience, perhaps the beer added a bit to it, but I think the fact it was a cool liquid in general was enough to suffice. As for the beer, there is little more to say than it was definitely a nitro red ale. I actaully didn't know it was Guiness owned, but it abolutely does not surprise me one iota. Almost malty, if I could process taste through all of the nitrogen. Looks red, but doesn't really taste it.

My favourite beer. It's all right out of the can; really, it's best on tap, though that goes for most beers. Very creamy, nice head, beautiful colour, and a solid, woody taste. Great stuff.

I enjoyed this beer from the tap. It has a nice taste of wood or nuts, with a faint sweetness. Not enough flavour, however, for me to call it excellent. Disgusting metallic taste out of the can.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2009 2009-05-22. Crisp amber body with a big beige head and lace. (3+) Mild aroma, just a touch of dusty malt and hops, earthy touches. (5-6) Flavour has a light bitterness throughout, mild malts are earthy and dusty. Average palate is smooth, less nitro feeling than I remember it being in Canada, but I expect that is just a trick of my memory. Still don’t care for it. 5/3/6/3/12 - 2.9 On tap at Marble City Bar, Kilkenny

July 2007. Can at LCBO Summerhill. Brown amber body with a small white head. Grainy burnt toffee aroma. Dilute malt, lightly astringent grain and mild hops make up the thin watery flavour. Thin palate. Poor. 4/3/3/2/8 - 2.0

July 2003. Really not fond of this one. Very nice body and mouth feel on tap, nice bitterness. Didn’t sit well with my taste buds though. 4/3/4/4/7 - 2.2

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2003 From an irish pub. This one is appealing in appearance, but a bit deceptive. Still, a nice nut and wood taste and a good bitterness.
