Bottle, 4.2%, october 07. Sherry, slightly oxidized, skunky aroma with some fruity notes. Decent. Clear copper with a medium white head and swift carbonatatoin. Sherry, fruity flavor with some crystal malts. A bit artificial but nice. Almost non existant aftertaste. Medium to light palate, light, mild, drinkable but a bit empty and watery. Nice, reliable, macro amber ale.

Bottled (5% ABV). A very nice amber colour with a good foam. The aroma is medium malty with somelight hop traces. Light flavour both in maltiness and hoppiness. Medium body, short dry finish and light bitterness. An average beer.

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2007 Pours with a creamy but small head. A red peanutskin brown. Faint aroma of hops and sweet malt. On first sip, this is awful. It is a hollow shell of a beer. Ridiculously watery and bland. A somehow distasteful hop bite at the end saves this beer from turning into water. The aftertaste has some coffee malt and hops. No carbonation whatsoever. What? How does this possibly have an average rating of 3?

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2008 (Bottle) Iím not sure what type beer is this, but in my bottle it said Red Ale. Nice looking amber color with a beige head. Aroma is very good as well, banana, apples, berries, roasted malt, and caramel. Flavor is a little dissapointing, low bitterness and little body, but the sweet roasted malt flavor and the warm feeling in the mouth makes it worth drinking.

I really dont like irish ales and this was no exception, they just have a weak flavor with metallic tastes, almost all of them that ive had

Iíve tried this one in two versions. On tap, and a bottled version called "red beer". This rating is a average of both. Yet the tap style is more strong and heavy, can be as refreshing as the bottled version. Good irish beer.
