UPDATED: JUN 22, 2008 I would say, this is definitely a good weekend treat. It is a tad overpriced in this country, but it definitely goes down smooth and very flavorful. Love the roasted malt flavor and is definitely a great beer from a macro brewery. The only thing I find unpleasant about this brew, is the metallic odor that is noticed prior to tasting, but it thankfully does not translate to the actual flavour itself.

440 ml can. Pours a deep amber with thick, creamy tan head that persists. Lacing. Aroma of bread, some dried fruit. Taste low malt flavor with a slight grainy note and a faint caramel presence. low bitterness with no hop flavor and a semi-dry finish.

I tried this a few times when I was younger and thought it was good, so I thought I’d try it again, it’s been about 15 years since I’ve had a pint of Kilkenny. It Pours dark amber with a tanned head that lasts the whole beer. The aroma matches the flavours with caramel malt, fruits and honey. Mouthful is smooth with a slight bitter finish. Not as bitter as I had remembered it, but then again I was young and hadn’t had an IPA yet. A blast from the past and still good.

0.1 l on tap at ’The Shakespeare’ (Herdecke). Clear, dark golden amber with a thin, slightly creamy, white head. Sweetish-malty, a little fruity aroma of caramel and red fruits. Sweetish-malty, a little fruity taste of caramel, some honey and a bit of red fruits, followed by a short, just slightly bitter, a little musty finish. Thin to medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Okay, just very bland.

No sé si será por el grifo pero tiene un gustillo ácido que no viene al cuento. Otra vez será.

Caramel notes, ruby with a good and not very persistant white head, light body, medium carbonation, caramel taste but quite watery, without character...drink it and forget about it unless ther is another pint.

Can at home. Nitro edition. Light brown colour, massive white head. Nose is light roasted malts. Taste is low bitterness low sweetness. Faint caramel. Smotth mouthfeel due to the nitro. Abrupt finish. Not very outstanding.

Small bottle from Cloud 9 Shop, Vientiane, Laos. Lovely pour; reddish hue with a nice foamy head to start. Aroma of malt and hay. More watery than I had imagined. Taste of malts, earthy hops. Medium carbonation. A bit thin and watery for the style. A good session beer perhaps.
