3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Canadastar (14) - , - JUN 20, 2008
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2008 I would say, this is definitely a good weekend treat. It is a tad overpriced in this country, but it definitely goes down smooth and very flavorful. Love the roasted malt flavor and is definitely a great beer from a macro brewery. The only thing I find unpleasant about this brew, is the metallic odor that is noticed prior to tasting, but it thankfully does not translate to the actual flavour itself.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2012 Bottle. Reddish clear body with medium thick head. Aromas malts, some hints of herbs. Palate is watery, softly carbonated with smooth mouth feel. Aftertaste is slightly dry and finish medium short. Decent and drinkable.

500 ml widget can. Pours a nice amber orange with a thick, persistent white head. Taste is very light - hard to find. Some bit of caramel, somewhat herbal. Slight hint of bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is obviously quite creamy, which is pretty much this disappointing beer’s saving grace...

Traditional red irish ale.
Creamy beer with nice finish.
Even though it is very nice on bottle, I prefer the draught version.

Beautiful when being poured with little aroma and a creamy frothy smoothness that can slip down your throat, taste is sour with a traditional Irish roasted grain taste.

May pour with a frothy head, but not overly carbonated. Soft and creamy on the palate, but to me lacks flavour.
