Killer Sprocket Amber Ale is the first beer on offer from newcomer Killer Sprocket. This Amber Ale pours a clear deep ruby-copper with a thin, quickly dissipating head. Utilising Pale, Munich, Crystal and Chocolate malts, its bouquet reveals a backbone of toffee, with some caramel and dark fruit supporting, and a pleasingly slight level of roasting. In the mouth, a combination of Cascade, East Kent Goldings and Amarillo hops, used subtly, provide a wonderful balance to the malt, showing good dryness to correspond with the malt’s predominant sweetness, and allow the beer to finish bitter.
Note: Formerly brewed at Southern Bay.

330ml bottle. A deep, ruddy chestnut amber with a small and fading off-white to beige head. Malt-sweet aromas of caramel and toffee with notes of earth and yeast all the while with a background toasty nuttiness. As far as the hops go they’re there in a grassy, mid-fruit way that lifts both nose and palate. Mid-weight with medium carbonation and a moderate length/intensity finish.

Pours very dark brown with thick foam. Aroma of burnt toffee. Flavour of smoke. More robust than your standard amber. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I love the roasted and chocolate but bitter taste of this one... I’d definitely have a few more of these!!

330mL bottle that pours a deep ruby red with a big off white head. A very nice aroma reminiscent of "tall poppy" from 8 wired (which is quite and achievement), lots of toffee malt mingling with a spicy grapefruit punch-bowl. Far less depth of flavour than tall poppy (as you would expect for a 4.8% beer vs a 7% beer) but some sweet toffee, spicy citrus zest.

Aroma reminds me of sherbet. Medium brown colour with a chocolate head. Burnt taste and med to high bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark amber bordering on dark brown but with a touch of clarity and has a tiny sticky beige head. Nose is all about that velvety caramel and dates/sultana feel to it. Almost a little chocolatey. Sweet and juicy like only those darker style fruits can be. The taste is bitter cacao, sultana, currants and toffee. Silky smooth with a dry bitterness to finish it off. Almost comes off like a slightly lighter version of a Scotch Ale. A very well made beer

From bottle in English pint glass. Beautiful dark copper hue. Nice chocolate overtones in a dry finish, signature of a classic amber. A nice family of hops used in moderation.

From a 330ml bottle, this is a fine malt driven amber ale in the British style (ie. less heavily hopped). Pours copper-amber with a largish light beige head. Nose has caramel, nuts, dark fruits and a trace of dark chocolate. Palate is smooth and malty with moderately sweet roasty flavours and a mild dry hop finish. Low medium body with a lowish carbonation making for easy sessionability.

On tap at Archive, Brisbane. Dark toffee brown, rich head. Lots of brown sugar and malt in nose and mouth. Some dark fruit- cherries and dates. The stickiest amber I've had in a long while. Very satisfying .
