COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Belgian Style Red Ale pours a deep red and presents aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and toasted malt.  It is brewed with a Belgian Trappist yeast, noble hops, and malt from Belgium and Germany.  Medium bodied and 6% abv, it is very drinkable yet still has complex flavors that only the right Belgian yeast can provide.

Bottle. The pour was a cloudy medium red with some brown undertones and a large (2-3 finger) white frothy head that diminished quickly down to a thin cap and medium collar, producing fair sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a mild bread malt, floral hops and a moderate dose of sweaty yeast with notes of apple, caramel and dark fruit (plums and cherries). The taste was lightly malty and sweet with hints of caramel and apple from the start and sweetly acidic with a note of dark fruit and a good yeast presence at the end. The flavor hung on for a little while with a nice fruity wheat taste left behind. Mouthfeel was a step above light in body with an oily dry texture and a lively carbonation. Overall a brew that is very drinkable, and has a delightful mellow fruity flavor...

Poured with HUGE head...light fruity smell...decent taste but not a good finish...little rough and slightly hoppy...too much carbonation??

Has a slight Belgian feel to it was the yeasty/spice aroma and mouth tingle. Murky/fizzy reddish orange with thin head. It’s alright.

Pours brick red into the glass, with a nonexistent head nor lace of which to speak. The nose is of crisp green apples. Flavors pull me toward a cider, with citrus, semi-astringent and mulling spices. The mouthfeel is a bit flat, and the body again feels like a cider. Weird, this one. Not my favorite style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at winners circle. Pours clear red without head. The aroma has some biscuit, and some sort of malt. The taste is very malty with a slight bitterness. Pretty drinkable but not memorable.

Rated at Brew Bern 2012. This was fairly unremarkable for a beer. Didn’t have any characteristics I would really associate with a Belgian or a red ale, and was entirely "meh" to me. Not bad, just unmemorable.

Kind of tastes like an Americanized Banana Bread Beer. Which seems odd for a red ale; I figured something along the lines of a yeasty Scotch ale, not a banana bomb. Said fruit dominates the nose; pouring the beer makes for a pretty pint, but buttered bananas grow a bit much to sniff every time you take a sip. The taste is drier than expected, but still yeasty and semisweet, with bananas at every turn. Some buttery undertones, with a mildly medicinal pine flourish on the fade. Not sure what this beer aims to be, but it could use some focus.

Bottle: it’s red, with a small white head. Fruity and sweet aroma and a taste of a fruit with a slight bitterness. It’s not bad, drinkable but not as good as I was hoping.

Bottle. Pours a reddish amber. Aroma and flavor are generically fruity, fairly sweet, touch of sour, some caramel. Not getting much in the way of a Belgian yeast. Easy drinking. Nice.

this beer while good in concept has some major faults. aroma is vegital with not much else, the palate is nice with a defintie velvet flavor. the beer is malt with taste of clay and slight skunk. hops are in side with the beer its self. cant really recommed this.
