Pale coppery red, thin white head. Molassess, brown sugar, rummy aroma some honey, as well. Nice flavor, too brown sugar, rum at first, with a nice crisp, hoppy - pine, I guess - finish. Tasty, easy to drink, hides its 7.3% well.

Pours a quasi-deep copper with a two finger sticky creamy light yellow head. The nose is sweet, malty, raisiny, carmel, smells kind of like a scotch ale. The flavor is sweet, malty, light piney bitterness, raisiny malt, chewy, herbal hops. The palate is lightly sweet, some bitterness, alcohol doesn’t show. Finishes malty.

Bottle. Clear amber color with a medium white head. Pine and grass with a bit of sourness on the nose. Straight ahead pale ale flavors of peppery hop bitterness and some caramel. Not a very complex beer, but easy drinking for the strength.

This one sort of makes me frown. Amber ale with a dense off-white head. A touch of pine in the aroma. Flavor is very grainy and cereal like with just a touch of bitterness. This one harshed my mellow.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2008 ABV 7.3 % Copper pour fizzy off white head and drippy lace. Malty aroma. Decent hoppy flavor, but after drinking a bunch stone/west coast Pale ales/IPA’s this one is way off the mark in comparison

Nice ruby tintend amber coloured body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, strong grass and citrus with a bit of pine. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour with some citrus and grapefruit coming through. Aftertaste shows a lot of malt - with a good body and an amazingly sound finish. Overall, a good beer - a nice APA - without too much flavour one way or another. Definitely worth trying if you like hoppier beers but don’t want too much alcohol, etc. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Durham, North Carolina on 31-August-2008, sampled on 13-September-2008 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
