Cask@Prince Edward, Bayswater, London.
Dark copper brown, small creamy off-white head. Nutty buttery sweet aroma. Nutty soft mouthfeel, a bit hard hoppy finish. Hops rise more in the aftertaste, which is good and lasting. Nice as being only 3,5%.

Cask Conditioned at The Cock & Bottle, East Morden, Dorset. Pale amber bitter with medium lacy head. Light malts nicely set up with fruity light hops. Easy drinking bitter now brewed at Hall & Woodhouse in a takeover that shouldn't have happened.

Cask (St Stephens Tavern, London)
Appley and candiflossy sweetness in the aroma. With a full mouthfeel, you’get apple, some malt, some bitter, not much of anything. However, it is only 3.5% so that’s forgivable I guess.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer is not retired. However, it is brewed at Badger Brewery (or maybe Gribble, or both) and is generally available in Badger pubs. In fact, it seems to have largely usurped Badger's own IPA as the session bitter in the portfolio. And it is not a bad session bitter at that. Light malt is overtaken by a quite assertive bitterness at the finish, which makes it an easily drinkable session bitter with a little character (but not a lot). Quite nice if you intend to sink a few, Handpump, Ship & Shovel, Charing Cross, London.

Cask, that Hall and Woodhouse pub in Horsham town centre. Tea-like amber with a film of suds. Tang of yeast, biscuity malts, bags of boredom. Astringent and tired. Lingering bad nut bitterness. Pretty much interchangeable with the Badger First Gold. Barmaid misunderstood my order and wanted to tip my 2 halves together. Might as well have done.
