imdownthepub (5086), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England May 10, 2007 Bottled, pasteurised, 750ml. Carbonated gold with fizzed head. Strong Eurolager with strong malt note, interesting without being that good, sweetish, cardboard. An awful lot of below average beer in one bottle. MullMan (1079), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA May 8, 2007 bottle as as Krait Prestige Champagne Lager. pours a bright and clear yellow gold color, with a thin tall foamy whitish head. aroma of dried grass/straw lager malts, a little bit sweet like white corn. flavor is yeasty dry grassy malt, then sweet like mild corn syrup. a little bitter, metallic, and soapy. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 6, 2007 It’s a golden color with a huge white head. Aroma was pleasant, spicy and a bit floral. Taste was the same - mild spiciness and some good floral character. Definite grainy/malty backbone too. Very drinkable. This is very smooth, crisp and delicious beer. On tasting it you wouldn’t assume the doulbe fermentation, as it’s so smooth and crisp. It’s deceptive I tell ya. Be careful! Enjoyed at Tastes Wine Bar in the Highlands neighborhood in Denver. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA May 3, 2007 Pale golden beer with a big whitish head. Mineral, slight grass aroma. Some earthiness, fruitiness, sweet malt flavor, but little depth. Very carbonated. A bit of spice lingers. Spritzy. DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Apr 29, 2007 Very pleasantly surprised. Slightly greenish pale gold pour with a hissing blanket of suds that fizzes out in 30secs. Despite that, a spritzy mouthfeel and some very inviting notes of grape, melon and wood in the snout. Makes total sense it’s re-fermented by Rodenbach. A lethally smooth balance of gentle, malty-ricey softness and white wine/Witkap Pater fruitiness. Possibly a squirt of lime. Imagine mixing champagne, Duvel, Corona and lime in a glass... and it actually tasting OK. Indisputably the best Indo-Anglo-Belgo-Polish 8% lager in the world. pbrick (13), Roseville, California, USA Apr 22, 2007 pale gold color. light/med body. mild biscuity sweetness up front, followed by a moderate spicy (pepper) hop character and moderate bittering. Finished dry with a lingering mild bittering. Aftertaste was like honey, more flavor than initial taste to be honest. Not a cheap beer, but for the price it ain’t bad. bhensonb (4180), Woodland, California, USA Apr 14, 2007 75 cL bottle. That sweet corn aroma typical of lagers, plus an underlying Belgian candy with yeast. Hazy deep gold color with a fizzy white head that quickly left. It starts with some yeast, firm mouthfeel, a hint of grassy corn, the really noticeable alcohol causes a warming sensation. The finish is much finer than a typical lager, but the bitter is not that strong. There are spicy notes, but no particular thing to pin down. I am guessing that the Rodenbach experience has added quite a few interesting aspects to what might have started as something like a malt liquor. It develops more interesting impressions as it warms. Malt liquor I usually put down the sink. This I will drink. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Apr 13, 2007 Pale golden pour, white fizzy head with decent retention. Corny sweet aroma, with a faint note of hops. Flavor is semi-sweet, with only a hint that the brewer used any hops, and a slight hint of alcohol. Sharp carbonation at first, but still a pretty smooth mouthfeel in the almost non-existent finish. Wish they would just call this King Cobra in the states, who do they think they’re fooling. Didn’t expect too much from this, just glad I got it at cost. Even then it’s over-priced.
