2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Oakes (10198) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 8, 2003
Orangey-amber colour is not as dark as I was hoping for. Slightly fruity aroma with vague caramel notes. Body is caramelly, maybe some light toffee. Quick finish. Not in the league of their (usually) tasty pilsner.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (7002) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 2, 2006
Clear dark brown lager with a thin dissipating moka head. Sweet musty caramel aroma, with light powdery moka notes. In mouth, sweet nutty malt, with mokaccino flavours, light metallic hops, but very short in mouth. Medium bodied.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JoeMcPhee (6967) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - APR 15, 2012
Dark brown pour with a tight tan head. The nose is lovely. Fresh toasted malt, a little bit of cocoa and brown bread. Fresh clean malt with just a touch of yeasty aroma. It's nothing fancy, but it's a top notch dunkel.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JorisPPattyn (6747) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 22, 2006
Small greige head over cola-coloured beer. Green leaves, bay leaf, dark chocolate malts, rather fresh smelling, and faint bready notes. Quite "true to style". Bèènggg! (see above and following). Tastes like a (watered down) stout; burnt grains, little or no sweetness initially. Retronasal some ashes, and at that time, finally some restsugars, if little. Faint burning sensation, generally rather thinnish. Very roasted, stout-like Dunkel, as if they had no idea how a Dunkel really tastes, and they did experiment. Which is also fun.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 11, 2003
A slowly burning red wine vinegar furnace, fed by feeble caramel sweetness...Fiendish water dilutes the few berries and ferries across the fickle ashes...Far from a fiasco, but still a fledgeling lager...
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sammy (6129) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 30, 2004
