bottle: Thanks to Lord Beamish for this one . . . this is what craft beer should be. Huge flavour & fresh tasting. I detect a coffee or bitter flavour upfront with a sweet finish. I immediately think of a sweet cola taste. This beer smells good as soon as you open the bottle and pour. Quality malts and hops are evident. Lacing is good. I think their ad says it best, Complex yet Clean. This is the way beer should be. I love Walkerville’s dark lager but this is a definite step up. Wow.

341ml Bottle: Wow, what a tremendous find! Met these guys at an event in Caledon, decided to buy a six to support the locals. Pours a beautiful deep brown with crimson edges, although the head sadly left quickly on the bottle. Scent is amazing, with caramel and chocolate. The taste is exceptional, almost schwarzbier, featuring a lot going on. You can taste sweet caramelized malt, some light grain, chocolate and coffee tones, and only a slight amount of hops near the back. Easily one of my top ones, I swear the rest of you have been drinking something else.

One of the best beers I’ve had in a long time. Many trips will be made to King City (well actually Nobleton) to pick this gem up. Nice dark colour, opens with bitter coffee notes but finishes in a well balanced symphony of sweetnees! Nice caramel flavourings as well. Really nice!

I had this at beer bistro in Toronto. Served on draught. A dark brown lager that came with almost no head. Tasty overall with rich but not overpowering notes of coffee, earth and a black licorice finish. Overall, a really pleasant, tasty beer.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2006 341ml bottle: Pours a dark red with a white head that I absolutely love. Taste is quite complex with losts of malts, carmels, chocolates and some coffees. Its not heavy tasting at all and finishes quite nice with no lingering after taste. The local micros have done it again.

Dark brown pour with a tight tan head. The nose is lovely. Fresh toasted malt, a little bit of cocoa and brown bread. Fresh clean malt with just a touch of yeasty aroma. It's nothing fancy, but it's a top notch dunkel.
