Commercial Description:
Authentic Munich Dunkel Style Lager 4.8% alc./vol. King Brewery's newest addition is this authentic Munich-style Dark Lager. Using only the finest imported Dark Munich Malt and Noble German Hops, combined with brewing in our authentic German decoction brewhouse, gives this beer King's trademark "true to style" aroma and flavour. This delicious beer is red-brown in colour, with a thick tan coloured head. The palate is rich and full, delivering a clean bready taste with a hint of toasted chocolate, while sporting elegant lace lines to the bottom of your glass. This unique Dark Lager is complex yet clean. Enjoy it with all European continental style foods and cheeses, or just as a well deserved cold one. Extremely flavourful, balanced and deliciously refreshing, our Dark Lager has to be tasted to be appreciated!

Pours deep amber with nice notes of caramel and malt. This then shows the same feeling of yeast and malts. A nice balanced finish.

I had this at beer bistro in Toronto. Served on draught. A dark brown lager that came with almost no head. Tasty overall with rich but not overpowering notes of coffee, earth and a black licorice finish. Overall, a really pleasant, tasty beer.

[717-20070928] Cask @ C’est What 2007 FOSB (Toronto, ON; "Unfiltered"). Faint coffee malt aroma. Dark brown body with a quick bubbly off-white head. Coffee and toffee caramel malt flavour has a little maple. Medium-full body has some astringency and is a little bitter. Nice and nutty.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, nose with notes of dark bread and caramel. Malty taste with dark fruit, dark bread, caramel and a hint of prunes. Hardly exciting, but clean and fresh.
