Ungstrup (10863), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 3, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy dark brown beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet iwth notes of caramel, malt, straw, an nuts. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a finish with notes of straw. The body is thin. dangermoose (8), Canada does not count Feb 21, 2008 I had this at beer bistro in Toronto. Served on draught. A dark brown lager that came with almost no head. Tasty overall with rich but not overpowering notes of coffee, earth and a black licorice finish. Faint coffee malt aroma. Dark brown body with a quick bubbly off-white head. Coffee and toffee caramel malt flavour has a little maple. Medium-full body has some astringency and is a little bitter. Nice and nutty. Svesse (1499), Hässelby, Sweden Nov 22, 2007 (Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, nose with notes of dark bread and caramel. Malty taste with dark fruit, dark bread, caramel and a hint of prunes. Hardly exciting, but clean and fresh.
