Skyview (2777), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 27, 2008 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Three Cellars in St Francis, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy golden orange brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head that slowly dissipates and stays thick throughout. Aroma of citrus zest, a touch of oranges, mild caramel malt and a touch of toffee. Taste is medium bodied, well-carbonated with flavors of light caramel and apricot flavored malts, grapefruit and lemon zest with some toffee. Finish is semi-bitter that quickly disappears to a mild APA light bitterness. sunevdj (1365), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 28, 2008 DLD. Pours a clear orange. Bitter and quite hoppy. Hints of plant sap and resin. Medium to light bodied. Long bitter finish. Medium carbonation. OK IMtheOptimator (1113), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Apr 14, 2008 Poured a volcanically effervescent amber with a voluptuous frothy white head that would not stop erupting. Had to place the bottle in the sink and pour it over a duration of several minutes. Nice initial aroma of pine and grapefruit rind with a bit of sweetness. Taste follows with dry notes of rind, grass and a bit of bitter earthiness with a touch of toffee sweetness. Slightly spicy. Extremely bubbly body gives it almost a hoppy-tripel feel. While it is likely that the foam phenomenon was more due to the bottle’s age than its intended construction, I must admit it added a bit of liveliness to what could have been otherwise a forgettable beer. dm9831 (571), Monee, Illinois, USA Mar 6, 2008 pours dark apricot, no head. sweet grapefruit aroma. the taste has a certain hoppy bitterness, with citrus flavors. finishes bitter. my reaction to this relatively simple IPA is "nice. what can i say?" Gobot (15), commerce twp, Michigan, USA Nov 15, 2007 Had to wait for this one. I guess they ran out, but two weeks later it was on tap. Not a big IPA, maybe a little conservative, especially with the hop choice. I like a little more body, too, and this one seemed a little thin, more like a regular pale ale than an IPA. I don’t know; just so-so for me.
