2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Crockett (925) - Steelback County, - MAR 20, 2006
Pours deep gold with a thin quickly disipating white head. Nice small ample beading. Nose of light alcohol, cereal malt and wheat grass. Flavour is laden with alcohol that never seems to blend in properly. Good amount of herbal hop with a bit of a cream and corn in the finish. Neither here nor there. Don’t understand the bock. I think it would have been played better in the Imperial Pilsner category.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Glouglouburp (4783) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 15, 2011
In short: A fruity blonde lager of some kind. A total mess
How: Bottle 341ml. Consumed fresh the day after a local left it at my place
The look: Almost clear dark blonde body topped by an off-white ring of foam
In long: Off-putting nose of weird scented flowers that don’t want in a session beer like this. Taste of pop-corn, light butter notes, apricots, red grapes and other inappropriate lightly sour fruits, cookies, some cherries, a bit of honey and caramel. Some other stuff. Annoying floral finish that is neither bitter not dry. This beer is a totally mess. Another shitty beer from Ontario. The beer scene over there is so behind the rest of the planet that they are actually thinking of developing a web presence by promoting their beer through MySpace.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Spab (1196) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 3, 2010
341 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a deep, rich gold with small white cap. Mild aroma of sweet fruit and herbal hops. Flavour is big on the sweet fruit, some breadiness and some light herbal hops. Alcohol is quite well-masked. Finish is fairly sweet with just a hint of bitterness. Didn’t love it but liked it and respected it.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 cyrenaica (813) - Milton, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 25, 2008
341ml bottle
6.5% ABV
I tried this beer on November 5, 2008 at Bar Volo in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a beautiful translucent dark gold (with reddish hues) in a tulip glass with almost no head. The aroma was bready malt, some maple notes, and yeast. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is malty, some yeasty notes, some caramel, and a little hops.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mnurda (786) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 8, 2008
Bottled sample via Piscator. A bit fruity for my liking, but quite enjoyable. Thanks to Piscator for this Heller Bock (never hear of it before).

Bottled sample via lubiere. Dark gold in colour with medium carbonation. Aroma of sourdough bread, pitted fruit, and a hint of caramel. More sourdough in the mouth along with some lemony acidity. There is a bit of light apricot going on, as well as some diacetyl. Medium bodied. Medium bodied and fairly clean finishing. Not too shabby overall.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KyotoLefty (3762) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 20, 2008
On tap at Volo.
Medium amber color with lots of orange. bohemian pils aroma: buttery, malty, decent hops, rich cereals, honey, some fruit. Big malt flavor with honey, butter, muscat grapes, cherry, alcohol. Strong alcohol finish with hops and fruity malts. A very interesting bock. Very complex, with nice hops and balance. The muscat flavor got on my nerves halfway through the pint, though.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Oakes (10198) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 19, 2008
Golden-amber. Fully malty, bready...nice nose. Kind of tart on the palate, with diacetyl. Whoa. At least it smelled good. Oh, and strong pilsner has been done before (see Europe, Eastern).

Tap-Golden pour with a foamy white head that laces and lasts. Leaves good lace. Heavy on the grass and lemon in the nose. Floral and also quite fruity with a good malt presence. Tastes are full on fruity caramel malts with floral bittering hops and some almost roast like qualities. Creamy int he finish. Pretty good.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (7002) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 6, 2007
A golden beer with a thick creany white head. A clean malt aroma with crisp hops, very german, and nice fruity notes. In mouth, a rather good biscuitty malt, grassy, with notes of roastiness, a good german crisp hops, some light nuttyness. For the cold fermented beers, this is spot on. Bottle from Probstk.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Radek Kliber (5308) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 27, 2007
Tap a C’est What
Good deep gold, clear lager . Medium fine creamy top, fine ornamental lace.
Light, clean malty aroma, light hoppy accents with fruity touches.
Medium bodied, grainy front. Rich malty middle spiced with gentle herbal hops. Think of Czech Pils powered up . Bock like fruity malts. Neat softness behind. Potent lager that is pleasure to have.
